Will the party who picked up an
endboard of a sleigh box opposite
lot 20. Con. 11. be so good as to' put
it back in a convenient place and
oblige the owner.
The following are away on their
Xmas holidays.
Mr. Geo. Bryce to Galt. Mr. and
Mrs. William Mitchel to Sealorth
Miss M. J. Orvis, to her home near
Whitby.
The box social which came off on
Wednesday evening of last week at
Hol Ines school house, will go on record
as ono of the most successful events
of the season.
The proceeds netted 819.00 less
expenses, and we have no doubt had
the hexes been sold by auction they
would have amounted to several
dollars more.
As frequently happens at sr;eh en-
tertainments, the fair sex were in a
tnanority, so that there were not
boxes enough to go around, which
was a bitter disapointment to a goodly
number of our chivalrous knights.
The programme, consisted of songs
recitations and c,iolou»es, interspers
ed with instrumental music. The
characters represented were well
sustained and showed tact and ability
in their selection. Should we vei-
ture to particularise we think the
three little mothers should bear off
the palm, white the bootblack and
the tardy lover fairly baonght dowry
the house. We don't need to fret
becaase .fenny Lend is off the stage
er that Jersey Lily is nearly faded
out of existense, there is material in
S. S. No. 6 which will fill the bill if
desired.
We desire to thank those who
helped to make the, entertainmen ::t
success, especially those from a dis•
ranee and by the way,if weever have
anything in the same line again we
will try to have boxes and girls en.
°ugh to go all round.
