The .979 Campaign for
funds for the Ontario March
of Dimes gets under way
Jan. 15, and this year it is
expected that mdre than 50
volunteers will be calling
door-to-door :,throught this
area. -
Campaign chairman for
the drive is Mrs. Wm.
O'Shea who is being assisted
by Mrs. Mae Hahkirk,
Keith Sharp and Mrs. Alfie
Dale.
The eight captains for the
area are:
• Harpurhey: MIS. Wes
Coombs. Egrpondville: Mrs.
Jean Lunn & Mrs. Ken
Smith. Seaforth: Mrs. Frank
Sills, Mrs. Wm. Hodgert,
Mrs.. Frank Roberton, Mrs.
George Reeves and Mrs.
Alfred Beuerman.
Each captain will secure
enough canvasses for her ,
particular area.

its annual Christmas Party
for the children.
President George Miller
" welcomed the large atten-
dance, and then introduced
the first number on
program.
Pam Nolan began with a
recitation entitled
"Welcome", followed by
Angela Bernard- singing a ,
song and Shelly and Karen
Nigh.4.1ten sang a duet. Julie
- Smith gav4 a recitation' en-
titled "When Santa got stuck
in, the chimney" and Mar-
garet Nolan entertained with
a recitation followed by a-
piano solo by Mary ,Jane
Eisler. Andrea Muir followed
with a tap dance. Chris Smith
sang "Away in a Manager"''
after which Allyson Scott
sang a song and played
piano solo.
Madonna, Carol Ann and
Anne Marie McQuaid closed
the program by plavina violin

dance.
Barbara - Scott led- the.
.ehildren in a sing song while
they waited for Santa Clans
to. arrive., • All co'l a sudden
there :was a shout "here he
comes" and much . to. the
delight • of the children• in
came Santa. He talked td all
the children. and gave thdin
fruit, eat*, 'and nuts.
The. Ladies • Auxiliary
served the adults coffee and
cookies. .
After Santa Claus • had left
the Legion. Hall he .went te'
visit the patients in • the
Seaforth Community
Hospital accompanied by the
President of Branch 156
George Miller and • the
President of the Ladies
Auxiliary, Mr James
Brown. 'together with, 'a
delegation {Om the Branch.'
Prom the Hospital they went
to Kilbarchan Nursing, Home
and to the SeaforkKa.nor
Congratulations to the

with the word Star.- Minutes
of the last meeting and a
poem were read by . Margaret
Taylor. 'The Treasurer's re-
