County Board of Education
last Tuesday night, predicts
a drops'' of almost 1,500
stedents the county over
the next Aye years.
The reports says that by
1983, 11,982 studenls will be
attending .elementary ,and
secondary public schools in
'• the county, dewii 1,417
'students from the "current-
total of 13,399.

The five secondary schools
in Perth will lose the most
students over • e. next five
year present • enrol-'
Me gore of 5,341. is
expected to fail by 1,187
students to 4,154 by 1983.
Elmentary school. enrol-
ment, according to' the
repori,, will drop by only 230
sttidents, from 8,058 to
7,828. The' eleMeetary
schools in. Stratford are ex-
pected to' see an increase of
319 ',students, while enrol- '
ment across the rest of the
county is expected to drop by
549 students.
Though . the projections
were based on "sound
statisti caj, 'methods," ac-
cording to J. Lee Andersen,
superintendent of business
and finatice, all - such pro-
jections "ale subject to

temper their interpretation
and use.
