In this . league you are

on a lead and espeiially so
with 'the way goals arc being
scored this season.
The Flyers pounced on the
Royal Team early and
cruised to a big 7-2 lead. The
Whiteshirts then laid back
and watched as the kings
potted 4 straight goals to
conic within One.
An empty net score by
Steve Southgate saved the
Flyers from a very embaras-
sing situation. •

for the Flyers to pace his club
to victory.
Brian Cooper tallied twice

early match.
Doug Philips led the Stars
scoring feast by notching
four goals. Brian Dale added
a hat trick wit Gary Finigan

the romp.

Someone suggested that
the Blues were the worst
team in the league 'but two
wins in four weeks over
supposedly stronger teams
may make second guessers
out of most of us.
Putting the game into
perspective, however, one
-Would-haVe -to say the Flyers
came up flat . while the Blue
boys tough defensive play
backed by another strong'
goaltending performance by
Rick Fortune was enough to
carry the winners to the
upset victory.
Gerry Barringer scored

Midgets
win
Seaforth Midgets came up
with a strong effort when
they won their second straigl
game handing the Clinton
squad a 6.0 whitewash.
The local boys put together
a team effort and got strong-
er and more confident as the
game progressed. Mark
Murray on a pass from Joe
Anstett opened the scoring
as Jim McClure in the Sea-
forth nets played a strong
period keeping the visitors
off—the----seorPboard_. The
second period saw Seaforth
skate rings around their
opponents when Mike
Vander Velden upped the
count to 2-0 and Brent

third goal.
In 'the final period Seaforth
completely outplayed the
