This award is given to the 4-H member obtaining the highest standing according to the "basis of awards" in 4-.H dairy calf club work in Huron County. AWARD WINNER — Bruce Godkin, R.R.1, Walton, of the North Huron Hog Producers' 4-H Swine-Club received the Victoria and Grey Ttust Award as the champion swine showman in the Huron County Hog Producers' 4-H Swine Show. BOLTON AWARD WINNER — John Coleman, of the Thekersmith 4-h Field Crops Club accepts the Russell T. Bolton and Sons Award for the 4-H Club with the champion 4-H corn exhibit at the Seaforth Fall Fair.' JUDGING AWARD — Paul Hoggarth, R.R.2, Kippen 'received the C.N.E. Shield as the top novice judge in the 4-H and Junior Farmers Judging Competition from G,Ien 'McNeil, first vice-president of the 4-H Club Leaders' Association. WARDEN'S NOVICE. TROPHY WINNER — Bob Axtmann, of R.R.4, Walton receives the Warden's Novice Trophy as the novice 4tI memberobtaining the higheSt standing on the basis of awards in Huron County from Paul Steckle, deputy reeve of Stanley Township. FIRST YEAR WINNER 'Murray Sholdice, R.R.3, Walton, receives the Bank of Montreal, Clinton award from Earl Hilderley as the top first year 4-H swine cltib member in the Huron County. SHOWS CHAMPION HEREFORD — Scott Consitt, R.R.1, Varna, a member of the Kippfield Calf Club, receives the trophy for the champion hereford heifer or steer from Jim Taylor, president of the Huron Hereford • Association. AWARD WINNER — Brian McGavin, R.R.4, Walton, of the Huron County Hog Producers' 4-H Swine Club, won the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce award for the champion 4-H gilt, presented by Jim' Gould. CHAMPION SHOWMAN — Bill Gibson, R.R.5, Clinton of the Kippfield 4-H Calf Club, receives the Champion All-Round 4-H Livestock ShoWman award from Stuart Coupland, of the Seaforth Toronto Dominion Bank. Holstein club member exhibiting the champion 4-H' holstein calf in the dairy show at the Seaforth Fall Fair from Mr. McNeil. RABBIT CLUB-TROPHY — David Townsend, of R. R.4, Seaforth receives the trophy as the top 4-H rabbit club member in the county from Tom Jorgensen,, leader of the Central Huron 4-H Rabbit Club. David also won the J.A. Anstett Award, an automatic wrist watch, as the 4-H beef club member receiving the highest standing on the basis of awards in Huron County. novi 01011111* EIVVVIlialfilliti CHAMPION SHOWMAN — Dianne Oldfield, R.R.4, Seaforth, a member of the Seaforth 4-H Calf Club, accepts the A.Y. McLean trophy as the champion showman in the 4-H Dairy Calf Clubs in the county from Wilma Oke. Seaforth area kids win most 4-H awards by Wilma Oke Jean Siertsema, 19, of- RI3,3, ,Blyth, was named outstanding 4-H member at the 31st annual Huron County 4-H achievement night Priday. MISS Siertsema, a nursing assistant student at Wingham . District Hospital received the Robert McKinley citizenship trophy for 4-H home and community activities. She has been five years in 4-H 'taking dairy, veterinary science, snow- mobile and junior leader projects and has completed 12 projects. She is secretary of the Huron 4-H Youth Council. Sharon Colclough, Rr 1, Clinton, was awarded the C.S. MacNaughton trophy for the highest 4-1-1 score in the county-943 points out of a possible 1.000, and the Pineridge Chalet trophy for being top snowmobile club member. T14e Huron County warden's novice award went to Bob Axtmann -of RR 4, Walton, for having the highest score of any first-year member. ON Len MadGregor, extension assistant for Huron County, ministry of agriculture and food, reported that $1,263 in prize Money, cettifleates, pins and plaques were award ed to members of 33 county clubs. He said 400 4-H members took part in 611 projects with 86 per cent completion: Other Winners were: David Townsend, RR 4,, Seaforth„ the Anstett award; highest beef clubs score.. The following clubs received awards as follows: Tucicersmith 4-H corn club the Russell T. Bolton & Sons trophy for championship corn exhibit:Sentral Huron 4-H rabbit club the Cooks Division of Gerbro Corporation trophy for champion- ship white bean exhibit; and the Central Huron 4-H rabbit club, the W.G. Thomp- son & Sons Ltd. trophy for championship 4-H grain exhibit. Les Falconer, Rr 5, Clinton, the Hallrice Farms trophy for championship 4-H gate sign exhibit. Voluntary - For 10 years voluntary service in 4-H work Sam Bradshaw of RR 2, Bayfield, was awarded a certificate and for five years, Bill teeming of RR 4, Walton, received a certificate. For completing 18 projects in 4-H work the following received certificates: John Franken, RR 2, Auburn; Bob Pavkeje, 'RR 2, Centralia; Wayne Shhpton, RR 1, Exeter; and Lori Lynn Stewart, Rr 1, Kirkton. For completion of 12 plrojects, certifi- cates were presented to: Cathy Bones- chansker, Ethel, Sharon Colclough, Clinton John Coleman, Kippen; Lorraine Dinsmore Fordwieh; Barry Elliott, Lucknow; Peter Hallahan, Belgrave; Fred Hern, Woodharil Oscar Meier, Brussels, Ken Menheere.
