For every sports disaster
tale there, is virtually always
at least one success story to
coMpensate., Last week the
Hawks of our were
featured as the big loser of
the past few seasons..
Outside of the Blues and
Kings the Industrial Hockey
League Wings have probably
been the most successful
Club over the past, three
seasons. A 26714,5 record
during that . stretch plus a
league final two seasons back
attest to. the fact that this
team is a winner. This
finally may be the year that
the club spreads its Wings
and flies away from the rest
'of the league: A15-1 toutp
over the Flyers during last
Sundays middle match gives
•the rd team a 2-0 record.
More important. however, is
the fact that they have given
up just .3 goals in those
pair ofcontests and look very, strong indeed.
Ken Swan led the winners
by scoring a pair of goals.
Bruce Rathwell, Kevin Ben-
nett and Jim McLeod all
at 1-1.
Kings 9 Iliwks 6
The Hawks achieved one
goal last week. That was to
score some goals after being
embarrassed 8-0 by the
Flyers a week before. Well,
they managed 6 scores
against the Kings butallowed
the Royal squad 9 of their
own to lose their second
straight match of the young
season. •
Clive Buist, Dale Kennedy
and Kevin Henderson all
scored 2 goals a piece for the
Kings. Rob Sallows, Brian
Nigh Land Joe Dick added
added single markers to
round out the Wings scoring. theHawks-Kings and Wings tournament' at Seaforth District High School. The St. Columban team
Ralph Wood tallied the , Flyers. Hopefully the . defeated their St. Mary's opponents by a score of 2 to 0 on penalty shots.

DeSpite being badly out-
played the Blues managed a
narrow 3-2 triumph over the
Stars during last weeks
graveyard game. They re-
bounded well after being
thrashed 12-4 by the Kings a,
week/ earlier.
Ken Divereaux. Sid

Blues.
Doug Phillips and Gary
Finigan counted for the 'Stars
who lost their second game
hi a row.
