Thirty-eight. members 'of
the senior .choir at .Seaforth
Public School under the
direction of music teacher
Carolyn Griffin. entertained
war veterans at West-
minister campus of Victoria
Hospital Thursday.
Seaforth branch No. 156 of.
Royal Canadian Legion ar-
ranged the visit by providing
a bus to take the students to
London.
The veterans at West-
Minister though grateful. for
the visits of fellow veterans
and friends, said hOw much
they would enjoy a visit from
children. This is the one
thing they miss most during
their years in hospital.
The students sang. and
danced for the patients and
then mingled among them
with the 38 dozen homemade
cookies they had made for
them. -
Teacher Edna Bell and a.
number. of members of
Seaforth Legion and auxiliary
-accompanied--Mrs. -Griffin
and the children.
The party was a success
and the veterans were de-
lighted with their young
visitors.
Seaforth principal Paul
Carroll remarked "I think the
children benefitted from the.,
visit even more than the
veterans."

I'd like
to help you Kids
When you're only six years old and it's your first Hallowe'en for
UNICEF, those "buts" can really hurt. Like "I meant to get
some Change but ..." Or '.'SUfel care about kids but ..."
Those little spooks and goblins know that 304
collected in their orange and-black boxes
often means the difference between life
and death to a small, friendless human
somewhere insthis world.
So at Hallowe'en', when the young voices
call "Trick or Treat for UNICEF";
please don't give them any "buts."
Help them to show their concern for
the world'S destitute children by
putting a few coins in the UNICEF
box.. That kind of caring is desperately
needed in our world today.

HAZARDS OF MIGRATION — Weather'is responsible
for many of the h,lazards, which waterfowl encounter
during migration. One • of the most unusual
situations develops when the birds encounter rain
at near-freezing conditions. Under the right set
of circumstances, ice will gradually build up on
the birds wings, finally forcing them to the ground.
Some of the documented accounts report "ducks
falling from the sky", the birds apparently flying
until they were incapable of staying airborne any
longer and making "forced landings" on roads,
fields,, and villages.
