Who's seen a red umbrella?
TREES ...THE GREEN LINK
•
There's a mystery in Seaforth and
although it's not quite as serious as the sort
. Agatha Christie chronicled, we hope some-
one can solve it.
The mystery revolVes around a:missing
red umbrella.
On Friday, September 22," Velma Beyette
of Dryden, Ontario visited Seaforth on her
vacation.
In a letter; which she later sent to the
Seaforth post office.' Mrs. Beyette writes,
- "On' Sept. 22 we visited your town: We
witnessed a very ,interesting parade, visited
• the cemetery 'where .many of my ancestors
are. buried and shopped in a' few stores,"
After returning home last week and
unpacking her car. Mrs. Beyette discovered
she was missing "my red umbrella ,Which
was -Very special to me."
Since she didn't have 'any other way of
tracking down her umbrella, Mrs. Beyette
wrote to, the Seaforth post offiCe, outlining
her plight: •
In the letter. she explained she
had bought a pair 'of shoes while visiting the
town and thought she'd left her umbrella in
the store,
When post master Orville Oke checked
with Gerry Hetherington at Hetherington's
Shoes, he reported the umbrella hadn't been
left there.
If anyone in town has recovered a spare
red umbrella, Mrs. Beyette hopes they'll
send , it to her. Her address is Velma M.
