United Church last Sunday
was conducted by
Garnett Husser who spoke on
the subject, "Open that
door." Soloist was ' Mrs.
Donna St. John who sang,
"How lovely are they dwell-
ings" by Liddle; accompan-
ied by Mrs. Marianne
McCaffrey at the organ and
Dr, Ralph TOR, at the piano.

At Dufferin Oaks, Shelbtirne,
Ontario, On October• 10, 1978'
Etherl Mae (Johns) died
her 90th' year. She was the
wife of the late Samuel
Tremain (1968) and -the last
'surviving member of the
family of James and Mary
Johns of Varna. She was the
Mather of three children who
predeceased her. Survived
by some nephews and nieces
She had lived in.;Tormito,
Alton and Orangeville. '
The • late Mrs. Tremain
tested at the Dods-McNairn
Funeral dome where funeral
service was,Iteki, on Wed-
nesday, October 11 with the
ReV. D. Hamilton of St.
Mark's Anglican Church
officiating. Burial followed in
St. John's Cemetery, King-
ston Road. Toronto.

Mrs, Rena Calwell told
some of the highlights of her
trip to Europe at the October
meeting of the Hensall
Women's Institute held ,in
the Legion Hall-on Wednes-
day,' October 11.. She told of
some interesting_ events. Fol-
lowing her, Miss 'Bea
McClenaghan, Home Econo-
mist, showed a film on
"Energy Conservation" and
also gave the members
question and answer sheets
on energy conservaqon. The
programme .'opened 'with a
sing-song. Mrs. Myrtle
Sherritt introduced and
• thanked both 'speakers and
presented Miss McClenaghan
with a gift. Courtesy remarks
were given by Mrs. Elizabeth
Riley.
The meeting was chaired
by the president, Mrs. Joyce
Pepper who opened with a
poem, "Reasons for Life."

behalf of our children. Last-
ly, a letter from Miss Bea
McClenaghan was read

session of the Fall Rally at
Izndesboro on Monday, Oct.
2 and Mrs. Pepper read a
report of the afternoon ses-
sion prepared by Mrs. Hilda
Payne. The rally is to be held
in Huron South next year„
