The sixth C of C Summer
Concert Sunday July 23 was given
'by the Old Tyme Band and,
Dancers of Stratford. This group
of 18 players. and dancers were
under the direction of Mrs. Betty
Ebel]. .
Using old time instrument
violins. tamborines, accordians
with electric organ accompanying
they presented a varied, program
of Irish, Scottish old time
melodies much to the delight of
the Senior audience.
They were introduced by Mr.
E. Dennis, President of the
Happy Citizens of Seafoith.
Next concert July 30 will be
given by the Clinton Highland
Ba nd and dancers under the
cfirection of Pipe Major Peter
Malcolm.

you could see some of the famous
movie classics of our time? Is there
some movie that you would like to
see, but no,ttreatte ever presents
it?
Well the Blyth Centre for the
Arts is going to try to remedy this
for you. .They plan to set , up a
'Film.Club for the fall and spring
season .1978-79.
Sortie benefits of belonging to•
the film club are: the chance to
choOse the movies, you ,want to
see, and the opportunity to
receive background ` information
about the movie, including any
available information ' on the
author, actors and plot. Members
will receive advance notice of the
movie for the month along with a
reduced 'admission (six,movies for
the price of five). The .club also
offers the opportunity for good
family enteetainment - in the
com mu nit y. •
MoVieS will be scheduled from
September to November and
frith to May one a month at the
Blyth Memorial Hall at 8 p.m.
Film membership is . $10 per
person • or $25 per family. this

An area couple plan to open 'a
private farmers market in Clinton
in one week, if all details are
worked out, and enough vendors
are found.
David and Lia Christie of
Brucefield have leased thefortner
Corner Rec Centre at the corner
of Isaac and Mary Streetand are in
the process, of renovating it into
an indoor farmers' market.
Mr. Christie said in an inter-
view on Tuesday, that he decided
to go ahead with the market after
the Clinton Business Association
voted down the outside farmers
market after one year of operation
on King Street.

Mr. Christie plans to divide the
building Up into 14 booths of 10
by 10 feet each.. There ,will be a
weekly charge to rent the booths,
but there won't be any admission
charge to the market. .
The market, which will be open
Only on Saturdays from 9 rm. to 5
p.m., will feature a number of
vendors selling a wide' range of
quality produce. .
To be called the Huron Farmers
Farmers Market, Mr. and Mrs.
Christie are hoping for local
market gardeners to participate,
and because it's inside, "we,
won't have to worry about the
rain."
Although the ',Christies hadn't
approached the Business Associ-
ation about the venture, he has
talked to several merchants
individually.
"Those I have talked to are
highly suppportive," he said.
Mr.- Christie said that if the
merchandise doesn't have good
quality, "we'll say •good-bye to
the vendor."
-He hope-s to run the market
year round, and will Spend an
extensive amount of money oA
renovations if the market is a
success.
The Christies *still - need
/approval from the, Huron Board of
Health for the market.
