said the recreation department
had put in two submissions for
government programs one for
Young Canada Works and, one for.
Ontario Experience '78;
In the Young Canada program,
four studerNwould offer_ a teen _
program -wit -programs--geared
for people ages. 13-17. The staff'
would promote social and sport-
ing events. The staff might also
hold some . special events pro-
grams for 8 to 12 year olds, for , example, an Oly p'c 'Day, A
Penny Day--or a B -Hockey
Tournament.
But the biggest accent, Mr.
Buist said would be o en
programs where they c Id ha e
such 'things as bicyc trips: or
baCkpacking trips for both males
and females. Programs will de-
pend on the feedback they get,
but Mr. Buist said they will
. probably be 50 per cent sport and
, 50 per cent social.
For their Experience '78 pro-
gram they are hoping to run a
mini-playschool or playground for
3-7 year olds at the public school.
Mr. Buist .said the high school
had• given them a considerable list
