managed a grand slam. closing for
(he broomball season, as the .
recently ' crowned
team won the Hamilton. Major
• Broomball Tournament and
$1,000 last Weekend, defeating
the Cornwall team who recently
won the - Ontario • broomball
championship.
Surviving a somewhat rocky
first game battle.• the .Seaforth
team • stole the 6 a.m. opening
game from HaMilton Ambulance,
1.0 on a goal by Ken Mathers.
Shifting into high gear, 'a much
different second game match` saw
Gord Dick score two' goals with
Jim Finlayson, Tom Burke and .
Brad Finlayson adding to the
attack as, the Dumpers routed the
Elmira Sugar, Bears by a *5-2
score.
After "this win, -the Toronto
Huskies decided to ,challenge the
Dumpers and made the Seaforth
team earn their win the hard way.
The Seafor th community paid
tribute to champion figure skater,
Lloyd' Eisler Jr. and his partner
Lori paler Friday, night, The
couple has brought 'distinction to
,the town as they have continued
to pile up-' Skating honours, in
appearances .across Canada'and
Overseas. •
Following a short presentation
oftheir skating skills in the arena
the couple was presented with an
oil painting by Seaforth artist
E.C.Boswell and two engraveu
silver trays from the town of
Seaforth. The presentation was
made by L.P.Plumstnel, chairmAn
Of the Seaforth Recreation
Committee Who with Rec.,
Director Clive Buist arranged the
event.
