Port Stanley:
Elevator to open
Construction has started on a
new high speed Transfer grain
elevator at Port Stanley. Jas: M..
Cunningham, ,General Manager,
said that two cement silos 40' x
110' will be built on a site just _
south of the existing elevator. The
silos will each hold 111400
bushels, so it will more than triple
the existing storage capacity.
Cost'of the project is in excess of
$500,000.

(Krauskopf) of Mount St. Joseph
died April 12, 1978. Sister M.
Immaculate (Rose Krauskopf) of
the Community of Sisters of St.
Jose ph in her 47th 'year of
Religious Life. She taught school
for 42 years and retired five years
ago. She was a daughter pf the
late Albert "Krauskopf and Edith
Beige, dear sister of Albert

April 7, 1978 after a brief illness.
He was 81, Born at Varna he was
a son of the late Nelson Keyes
and the former Minerva
Kennedy.
A graduate of Seaforth Col-
legiate' and of London Teacher'S
College. he taught in Public
Schools near Elmira and in
Timmins and Windsor. He was
principal of the David Maxwell
Public School Windsor for 30
years and Churchwood School for
the retar-ded—in— Windsor for 4
years. In 1963 he "Moved • to
Kitchener and was appointed
co-ordinator of the Senior, Citizens
Activities for The Parks • and
Recreation Commission until
1970. He Was a life member of the
Windsor Men Teachers Federat-
iOn, the Windsor and Essex
Children's:: Aid 'Society and a
former Member of "the—Vincole
Road United Church, where he
''served'as the recording secretary
for 14, years. He was the life
member of the Waterloo Masonic
Lodge No. 539 and a member of
the Trintiy United Church.
He is survived by his 'wife the
former Ella Schweitzer, daughter
Joan (Mrs. Bindernage1) of Iran.
grandchildren Christopher and
Sarah and brother Wilbert of
Seaforth, and Stewart of Orillia.
He, was. predeceased by a son
Glen and two brothers: The
funeral was held at the Ratz-
Bechtomel , Funeral Home, .621
King st. West ; Kitchener on
• Monday, April 10. Interment
was in Bayfield , Cementery.

The new elevator will be able to
unload trucks and load lake
vessels at the rate of 25,000
bushels per hour. The new
facilities are expected to be in
operation early next fall and will
be able to load boats in one
quarter of the time previously
required. It is expected that the
new facilities will be able to
unload large tractor trailer units
at the rate of one every five
minutes.
The elevator will be handling
corn and wheat and soyabcans,
which are. grown in . the , area..
These grains arc shipped to the
lower St: Lawrence River
terminals and •either used in the
Domestic feed areas of Eastern
Canada or transhipped to World
markets. These improved.
facilities arc expected to benefit
the grain , producers . in Elgin,
'Middle S0 and- .Norfelk,,Counties- -
and to some extent Kent County.
