George Ribey, Secretary of the School, came along also. The choir included pupils from Grades 4. 5. 6 and most of. the songs chosen were familiar to the tesidents. Their opening number was "What Shall- We do with a Drunken Sailor?" • followed by "Down by the Old Mill Stream" with .variations in the -wording which were familiar to me. "Sing FbIly . Weddle, doodle, all the day"; "When You Wore a Tulip"; "Whispering Hope"; "Swanee River"; "Home on the Range"; "'Billy Boy." I Was askedto thank the group. and give a few comments. I told them they were a spirited group .who sang 'as though they„,,-were enjoying 'themselves and commented, on the 'number of boys present and advised them to keep'Singing. My experience has taught' me that when boys get to the changing voice stage they get se nsitise about 'their voices and won't sing.
