Treasurer is selling off assets-
$125 million in Ontario Mortgage
Corporation, mortgages. He is
also accelerating the cash flow
from corporation taxes by
changing the Corporation Tax Act
to bring in an _additional $70-•
million, in a one time cash' floW
adjustment.

Minister of Transporation and
Communications „has introduced
legislation, to alldw the
Government to impose new• rules
on drivers' licences. -A first step
has been taken toward requiring
photographs on drivers' licences
and .• setting up prohationary
?licences for nee drivers, both
recommended by' -the .. Select,
Committee of-the Legislature on
Highway Safety. Probationary
licences may not come until next
January 1st ,o.r, later, and
photographs, whir - would
taken' Only when a driver r• ewed
his licence, May follow that. The
Select Committee recommended
'a two year probationary licence,
. during which time action .would
be taken against a driyer at.lower
levels,of demerit poinfs'than for a
driver with an Ordinary licence.
The Cabinet considered a one
year probationary licence for all
new drivers18 and older. Drivers
under . 18 would • be -On
probationary , licences until that

brought in, his budget this week.

going up again to help the Ontario
Government meet $14.5 - billion
spending commitments in the
coming fiscal year. , •
. •The most controyerial meas-
ures of the 'generally cautious
budget likpty will be the increase
of more than 30% in Ontario
Health Insurance premiumS. This
amounts to 100% increase over
the last two years.
• Beginning '.May Ist, health
insurance premiums will'jump to
$22 'a month from $1:6 for single
. people. and. to $44.• a month . from
$32 for faMilies. The money Will'
