story about Winston Brown, who
as a first year theological student
- from. Jamaica, came to :Toronto
University in 1968. He was faced
with the'unbelievable .progress,of
a city of mammoth highways,

lights• and skyscrapers. He was
suddenly Conscious of being black
in a,white country. It was difficult
learning to cope with a -cold
Canadian winter and his English
was often. misunderstood. He was • • • . '

and education. He had trouble
finding part time work. The
