mixed team skipped by Gordon
Pryce with--Irtrut Pryce, Roy and
Joan Beuermann won . the top
prize at the Mitchell Mixed Open
Bonspiel. They were winners of
the 11:00 draw and also had top
points for the day: • Also on
Thursday, Grace • Campbell
skipped a rink of Seaforth ladies
in a Ladies SPielAti :St t ,--Marys,
Curling with Grace were Pat
Deighton, Carol- I n nes and
Drucilla Twynham. They had two
good. games but didn't come
home with prizes. Also curling in
that Spiel were 'F'10 Smith and
Anne Laverty from Seaforth.
They • curled with Madelyn
Campbell and Anita Storey frorri
St. Marys and won fourth prize
on. the 11;00 drawl,
On 'Saturday March 11, the
Bonspiel Committee hosted •

and Nancy Smith. Seaforth's

1st Game Seaforth The first'
game of the Seaforth-Durham
series in the finals was played
here on Tuesday, March 7.
Seaforth coining out with a win of
8-3. Captain David MeLlwaitt,led
the. scoring with 5 goals. Each
scoring 1 goal for the Seaforth
team were Danny Van Loon, Greg,
Murray and Kevin. Wady. The
Seaforth team out skating ,I The
Durham team winning the 'first.
game of the series,. Scoring two
goals for Durham were Terry
Whiteside and one. goalwasDavid
Hopkins.
Second game or the series was
played in Durham on Thursday,
March 9. Leading scorer for the
Seaforth team David McLlwain
netted three goals. Kevin. Melady
scored two goals and each scoring
One goal were Greg. Murray;
Datiny Van Loon and Kevin
Williamson.' At the end of the
second period, it was a very close
game. Durham were leading 3-2.
The Seaforth team fought back
hard and very determined 'to win '
this second game of the series out
-played Durham then and won the
game 8-5, Scoring three,goals for,
