THE QUEEN IN 1951 A reference In a recent
:Expositor story concerning a new' picture of Queen
'Elizabeth which the council was obtaining, reminded
long time subscriber and former well-known Seaforth
resident, Robert E. Reid, of Hamilton; of a pidture
which his son had taken„of Queen Elizabeth before
she gained the throne. Mr. Reid's son Don was a
piper with We-Argyle and Sutherland Pipe- Band of
Hamilton in August 1951, when the band, while on
tour in Sdotland, accepted an Invitation to play fdr
the Royal Family. This picture, taken by Piper Don
Reid at Birkhall, Scotland, shows PrincesS Margaret
and Frincess Elilabeth holding Prince Charles by the
hand and surrounded by members of, the: band.
