Berry BrUcefield United Church held the final 100th anniversary, event en Sunday morning with a large attendance of members and former members of the church. A former Brucefield boy, Dr. John McIntosh, Toronto, occupied the pulpit, assisted by Rev. E.S.Stephens. During the service a reception was held for the following young "Birthday Greetings" to Bill McKenzie who will celebrate his birthday''on Friday, Dec. 3rd. Mrs. Eric Luther was in charge, of the church service , Thursday. people who joined the church, Dianne Wilson. Jane Allan. Sandy Broadfoot and Ronald Broadfoot. The service closed with hymn, "1 danced in the morning"' The congregation was, invited to the Church Hall where dinner was served to a large crowd who attended the last of the v ery busy year at Brucefield United This community seems to have a lot of people ill just now. Jackson, sold his long established Joybee Hereford Farms herd at a dispersal sale at Denfield Livestock Sales Ltd. There were 35 lots offered and they brought an average of $600. The tax lot went at $1900. • The 11 year old herd bull Joybee Britisher 19 sold at $900. There were only seven tables of euchre at the first L.O.L. card party of the season in the township hall on Friday evening. Pries were won by Dorpthy Weston of Bayfield, ladies' high; Nora Heard of Varna, ladies' low; Stanley Township Recreation Committee met abhe Township Hall on Wednesday evenjpg, Nev. 24. The Fall Datke was a great success and thanks to all who ' helped. A storage building for the-ball park was discussed at length, and inquiries will be made as to what is necessary. A Christmas Party for seniors will be held at the township hall on December 15th from 2 to 4. Mrs. Betty Beutenmiller and children of Northside United Church visited residents of Seaforth Manor on Saturday at 2 p.m. and provided a musical program and -also- treated the residents to lovely cookies, apples and tangerines Nahich were enjoyed by all. Tuesday evening at 7 p.m,the "Century Aires" namely Elgin Nott, Keith Sharpe, Lorne Lawson, Carl Desch and Art Fjnlayson provided' sortie good old tome music for our residents. Also contributing to the program were. Lerrie Bell (step . dancing) Jane Bell (piano selections) Ferg McKellar (step dancing) Carl Desch (vocal sold) and Carl and Miriam Oesch (v,6a1 duets). Edith Nott, Viola Lawson, Margaret Sharpe and Mary Finlayson danced the "Waltz Country".. George Schular sang two solos and Doris Wells recited two'poems.
