Gwen Fuhr, daughter of Mr.' Harold Fuhr of R.R.S, Stratford,
and James Hugill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leverne Hugill of R.It2,
Seaforth, were married in St. James Romancatholic Church on
November 12 by Father H. J. Laragh. Attendants were Mary
Willemsen, Stratford, Lori Hugill, Kathy Dalton, R.R.1,
Londesboro, Debbie DeJong, R.R.2, Monkton, Lorianne
McNichol, Clayton McClure, R.R.2, Seaforth, Jerry Fuhr, R.R.2,
Monkton, Stewart Glousher, Londesboro and Jimmy De Jong. A
folk group, conducted by Mrs. Matt McCreight, provided music.
Following a reception at the Brodhagen Community Centre, the
bride and groom left on a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls, They

Cindy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Parker, Hensall
and Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor, Brucefield are theparefifs of the
groom. Miss Patti Rowcliffe was maid of honour, bridesmaids
were. Judith Parker, Joanne Dodkin and Jackie Taylor. Julie
McBride was flower girl and Roddy Parker was ringbearer. Mrs.
James Cooper, was guest soloist. Best man was Steve Taylor.

Nine clubs attended the 4-H
Homemaking Achievement Day
on Saturday at the Grey Central
School.
In the morning program there
was a film on Nutrition shown.
There was judging of muffins,
judging menus and a quiz and
identification of cereals.
Miss Jane Pengilley, Huron
County Home t conomist,
presided for the days activities. In
the •afternoon program, Walter' 1
had an exhibit, "Cereal Snacks"
with commentators, Karen
IvEddegaal and Mary Searle.
Leaders were: Miss Margaret
Shortreed and Mrs. Joe Sterner.
Walton 11 put on a skitt
"Mexican Fiesta" with all
members taking part. Leaders
were: Mrs. Don Lephard and
Mrs. Harold Rutile.

received her Provincial Honours,
The spring project for next year
will be Clothes for Leisure.

evening there was free time for
swimming, book browsing, arts
and crafts and souvenirs. Pat said
-she enjoyed every minute of her
three day stay and never made
bedtime at 11 o'clock, the
suggested' •time. r

Mrs, Herb Harrison lead in
prayer.

"Courage" was given by Mrs.
ErlinWhitmore. Courage is sort of
quiet strength that relying on a
loving Father can face
disappointment,. pain or tragic
loss and rise above them to "find
purpose and meaning in life, she
said.. God.still rules and serving
Him and striving to grow in
Christianity makes life worth
living. Courage means to look on
life with quiet eyes ,•a•nd know.
when sorrow veils 'our skies.
Beyond the mourning and the
tears, Beyond the dreary march of
years, Lies God's sunrise.

Mrs. Earl Papple chaired the
business of the • meeting. The
revised by-laws of the. United
Church Women were read and
discussed. It was decided to gi ve
donations to • Huronview,
Christmas . Fair, John Milton
Society for the Blind aid the
C.G. I. T. National leadership
Fund, this being the 60th
Anniversary of the C.G.LT.

Pat Rose was guest speaker at
the November meeting of
Egmondville U. C. W.
A scholarship fund has been
established by the late Mrs. Ethel
Childs, former dean of Alma
College and is granted each year
to a girl from each different
presbyterial within the London
Conference of United Church
Women. This year was Huron
Perth's turn and Pat was the
worthy recipient of which
Egmondville Church is very •
proud.
The scholarship meant that all
expenses were paid for the three
_clay Leadership training school for
United Church women held at
Alma College last August.
Of the 150 United Church
Women, present 7 were
teenagers.
Pat said that Alma College at
St. Thoinas celebrated its 100th
birthday this year and she was'•
impressed by the' 60 year old
structure with its wide winding
staircase, its three floors' and 77
steps. Pat also enjoyed the
wonderment of the Outdoor
Service held in the beautiful
garden chapel like an
Amphitheatre with steps carved
into a steep hillside..
