what 'capacity, they were not,

celebrated the twins Ronald and
Ruthann's birthdays on Saturday.
It is good to see Manuel
Beuerman returned home on
Friday from Victoria Hospital,
London where he was a patient.
He is now convalescing at his
home. We wish him a speedy
recovery. "
It was certainly a shock to hear
about the sudden death of Harold
Ward at his home on Tuesday.
The funeral was held at Peeble's
Funeral Home in Atwood. He was
laid to rest in North Logan
(Harvey's) Cemetery on
Saturday. Several attended the
funeral from here. Sincere
sympathy is extended to his
bereaved wife, née Margaret
Dewing and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Hantze,
Detroit visited with their brother
Clarence Bennewies, formerly
from Bordhagen, in Seaforth
Community Hospital, where he
had surgery last Thursday. They
said there was a big improve-
merit. They spent the weekend

Is this winter?, Looking all
around and seeing the snow
blowing the past few 'days, some
people I talk with seem to think it
just could be.
It has happened before, which I
have to agree. But I'm still
optimistic and am saying, from
my own vtewpoint, that when. I
write my next column it will be
warm and sunshiney weather.
The corn harvest, with very few
exceptions, has been completed.
Some have ploughing to do, and
others are all finished and are
now 'settled down for a long.
Winters' nap. Stop. This is not a
weather report.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank VanDen-
berg, Sarnia were weekend
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Vinc,
Lane. The Vandenberg's were
one time farm neighbours, before
moving to Sarnia some 15 years
ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Coyne
have returned from a month's trip
to Edmonton where they visited
their son Don and Mrs. Coyne
and family. They have reported
excellent weather while driving.

church hall Sunday regarding the
possibilities of continuing the
Seniors Card Club for another
term. Due to 'weather conditions
and unexpedted visitors, the
attendarice was small.
However it was decided to go
ahead with the same officers,
hoping the ladies will take a turn
at preparing lunch.
Treasurer Mrs. Moylan gave a
report of last year's activities
which was adopted. The first card
game will be held Thursday,
November 18 and thereafter the
second Thursday of each month
(weather permitting) at the K. of
C. Hall from 2.4 p.m.
Ladies are asked to bring a few
sandwiches or cookies. It is hope
to have good co-operation from
neighbouring 'clubs.

Trustee of the Police Village of
Dublin asked Hibbert Council to
apply to the County for
permission to construct sidewalks
in -the village on the east side of
Highway No. 10 in front of the
Huron Perth R.C.S.S. Board
Offices. Council agreed to the
request at their meeting on
Monday.
An environmental report had
been made of the Township
Landfill Site, which was generally
favourable, There was a request
that old stoves and refrigerators
be disposed of.lt was left with the
Clerk and the_andfill, site cesto
dian to make the necessary
arrangements.
The Seaforth Agricultural
Society was given a grant of $150
' for their 1976 Fair.
General Accounts in the sum of
$125,633.91 were approved. This
included the half yearly educa-
tional levy,' both public, and
separate, the County Levy, Plan-
ning Board, and Fire Area
balance of payments. Road
accounts for $5005.94 were also
approved.
Council decided to hold over for
further discussion the
recommendation that all building
alterations, changes, repairs etc.,
'with the exception of roofs, and
siding, eavestrough and facia
boards, require a building permit
with a minimum charge of $5. The
Mitchell & District Building
Protective Committee is to be
informed of this decision.
A tile drainage by-law in the
sum of $30,200. •was approved for

A quiet wedding was held last
Thursday Nov. 4 on Matilda
Street for Harold Schlattman and
Kay Schaefer. Mr, and Mrs. Geo.
Hammond, brother of the bride,
were attendants.
A reception was held at 7 p.m.
in the evening. Friends,
neighbours and relatives
attended from Dublin, Styatford,
Mitchell, St. Marys and Fergus.
The happy couple were presented
with many lovely gifts and
cards.
Later in the evening the
wedding cake was cut with Harold
wielding the knife assisted by
Kathleen, sandwiches and hors
d'oeuvres 'refreshments were
served by Master of
Ceremonies Don MacRae.
Mr. and Mrs. Schlattman
thanked their friends gathered
there especially Mrs. Doug
Racho who made the lunch.

A special meeting was held in
Police Village of Dublin with
Inspecting Trustee and chairman
of Dublin Hydro Don MacRae to
check on damaged sidewalks and
especially in front of Huron Perth
County R.C.Separate 'School
Board offices where a low side is
trapping water and mud. It was
decided to apply to Hibbert TWp.
for the necessary county approval
and grants.
Matt McCreight presented the,
request to Hibbert Township at
their council meeting and council
agreed with the request.
Mr. and Mrs. Pon Hunt have
moved into one of Geo, Goettiers
apartments on Mill St. Welcome
to Dublin. Mr. Hunt is employed
at Burchill Automotive, Mitchell,
a subsidiary of McKerlie
Automotive, London.
Mr. and Mrs.Bob Johnston
have moved to Stratford.
There will be a new reeve in
Logan Township as a restilt of an
announcement by Reeve Tim
Nicholson at the November
meeting of council that he will
retire. Deputy Reeve Carl V,ock
told council he would qualify as
reeve and Laverne Gardner will
run for Deputy Reeve.
Councillor Ted Inman said he
would let his name stand for
council but councillor Ken L
Siemon was undecided whether
or not he would continue.
