The affected 100 acres in the township have had a history of flood)* problems dating bad( to the040's and 1950's. In the last three years the area has suffered through four floods. The' majority of the funds be supplied by the Ministry' aiid'''snpplementary grants from the Province of Ontario. The benefiting municipality will pay 20% while the entire authority will supply the remaining 5%. The program has been , established to offer landowners of the problem area an alternative choice of action. It has not . been developed to expropriate the land. Land appraisal will establish guidelines for prices offered by the Authority. Initial acquisition efforts will be centred on 53 acres that are categoriied 'as , severely flood-prone. Member - municipalities bordering Lake Huron have been approached for their approvals to commence an extensive lakeshore development study.
