man and Becky had two weeks of
travelling,to Sault Ste. Marie and
coming home along the American
side to Bay City. They said the
weather was very good.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mordon
of Feversharn visited with Mr.
and Mrs.' Charles Geddes and
family. Mr.`Mordon is an uncle of
Mr. Geddes. They had their}wo
grandchildren with them;"-Ricky
and Kimberley -from Richmond
Hill.
Mrs. Ken Smith visited with
her sister last week, Mrs. Ron
Miller and family of London.
Mr. and 'Mrs. John Watt from
Perth, Scotland .are over visiting
their son -John and his wife,

Mrs. Muriel Harrison sang two solo numbers at the Sunday
morning chapel sesnrice conducted by+ the' Chaplain Rev.
McWhinnie.
Mr. Bob Heywood, of Exeter, entertained on "Family
light singing sacred, country & Western and old tyme
tunes. Bob proVided his own accordion accompaniment by
using his sound equipment . Everyone both in the building
and out` on the lawn were able to enjoy the music.' Two
sisters, Grace Campbell and Ruth Townsend sang two sacred
number's and Scotty Easton a long time friend or Bob
Heywood, expressed the appreciation of the residents.
Thirty-one members of the "Over 90.- club met on the
north patio on Wedfuesday'afternoon. Music for the afternoon
was provided by Mrs. Elsie Henderson with her portable
organ and Karen. McGregor with the accordion. The
Walkerburn volunteers assisted with the activities and the
kitchen 'staff -provided_ the lunch.

The eighth summer concert of
the C of C '76 Series was given by
the Concert Band of the Stratford
Legion Sunday evening, August
8, under the. direction of Paul
Cross.' A wonderful variety of
modern and classical selections
was presented, such as' The+
Nutcracker Suite, and Hello.
Dolly.
Needless to say, this excellent
professional band was much
enjoyed by the audience present.
The president of C4th Legion.
Torn ,Wilbee introduced Mr.
Cross and the band to the
audience.
It is unfortunate that these
summer concerts are not attended
by more of the citizens of the town
and area in greater numbers.
The 9th concert will be
presented August 15 at, 7:30 by
the London Ladies Pipe Band
under direction of Pipe Major

This month, the Huron Country
Playhouse presents its first full-
scale children's show at the
theatre in Grand Bend. A musical
version of A. A. Milne's Winnie-
The-Pooh will be presented on the
main stage, of the theatre three.

AuguSt 14,21, and 28. The shows
begin each week at 11:00 a.ra.
Aileen Taylor Smith, a veteran
Playhouse performer. directs this
large cast which includes several
of the Playhouse acting apprent-
ices, some of the regular mem,
bers of the 1976 acting company,
and a few local young people. The
world-famous VVinnie-The-Pooh
characters including Christopher
Robin, Pooh Bear, Piglet. Kanga
and Baby Roo are' all vividly
brought to life for the enjoyment
of young and , old alike.. A
delightfUl 'experience for the
entire family'.
This is the 12th Playhouse
production mounted for 'young
audiences over the past '5 years.

Good Life in a Global Setting." In
the evening in Thomas Theatre,

ting Religion to Work."

school shows that have toured
Southwestern Ontario. The Play-
house Young Players this spring
toured for seven weeks as far
afield as Windsor, Guelph, and
Southampton. Each summer in
the past there have also, been
children's shows and musicals
revues that have toured to
festivals„ rest homes. recreation
centres, etc. Winnie-The-Pooh is
the first full-size play produced at
the Playhouse that is: directly
geared to children and to family
audiences.

organist at' St. James' Roman
Catholic Church, where she has
served for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Stiles said a special thank-
you to ;Father N.J. Laragh of St.,
James',' the church choir and her
many Seaforth friends for all their
help and support. ,
A benefit performance of
Mostly in Clpver by Harry J.
Boyle will be given by the Blyth
Summer Festival on Saturday,
- August 21 in aid of the Blyth and
District Community Centre pro,
jeet. The show has filled the Bryth
Memorial Hall to capacity every .
night' of the regular seasoir and-
tickets for this special perform-
ance are already going fast. The
Festival will donate all proceeds
to the re-building of the arena
which is so important to the
people Of Blyth and area.
The old arena was built in 1950
. and well-used by the people df the
community. unfortunately, it was
condemned as unsafe by the
Ministry of Labour'on June -15 of
this year and was subsequently
torn down. Plans: were immed-
iately made for a new arena 'and
the people of Blyth and area are
already working to raise funds for
the, project: A 'Wintario Com-
munity Centres Grant will supply
