at the Rec on July 13 proved this
as they defeated Betty l3uetten-
miller's team 24-11.

Norah's except in the last two
innings, when they allowed Eck-
ert's team a total of 16 runs.

The Lake Huron zone Rec-
reation Association has come up
with a new regional gaMes format
for a multisports program this
summer called Sportsfest '76.
Designed to lure as many
children and adults as possible
into sports and recreation, sports-
fest '76 will be presented in the
form of eight sports activities at
sites in the Lake Huron area.
Competition is scheduled for
august 14 and 15.
Sportsfest is organized by jane
Netzke of 'the Walkerton Com-
munity. Centre. Anyone wishing
to enter any of the events should
contact her at 881.0620 or ,contact
his or her local recreation office.
Archery will be herd in Han-
over. Tennis is scheduled for
Goaltender Frank Verberne had a
relatively easy time in recording
the shutout, On one play, with
Verberne caught out of his goal,
fullback Pat Flanagan made two

shoe pitching will be at the Watra
Resort, south of Durham.
Kincardine plistrict Secondary
School will be the site of a table
tennis tournament, For the young
people there's a T-ball tourn-
ament at Palmerston. For the
not-So-young, there's a euchre
tournament at the Ripley com-
munity Centre and a shuffleboard
tournament for the golden-agers
at Mount forest.
A soccer tournament for boys of
house league calibre will be
played at Walkerton. No all-star
teams will be allowed.
Maximum participation is what
recreation people strive for when
they organize any event. Sports
certainly offers this opportunity.
