house, with it's priceless antique
furniture; largeeliving, rocarreand
cozy. sloped ceiling bedrooms will
also be open for tour participants.
Sunday the tour will head west
from the Van Egmond House and
tour the Cresswell house, now
owned by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Martene with its wide centre hall
and formal arched living room.
Next stop is Castra•ment, now
owned by Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Spinal, a Georgian style brick
house with lovely grounds and a
large formal living room.
The tour will continue to
Harpurhey where it'll visit and go
tight through the. Keith and
Margaret Sharpe home, a brick
cottage with .a large -original
fireplace. built in 1855.
Sunday's tour will go back into
Seaforth and stop at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Spinal, built
by B.B.Guein in 1894. with its
antique furnture and period
rooms. It will again visit St.
Thomas Anglican Church.
Final stop Sunday is the -hone'
of Dr. and w;. Rodger Whitman
on Goderich St. E.: which
contains some • of the original
furniture of the first owners in the
1860'S, and has a large green
house and gardens. ,
Other homes of architectural
and historical interest will be
pointed out along the tour route.
:Tickets are S3, which includes
nee at the Van Egmond house
after each tour. They arc
available at the Huron Expositor.
at the Arbor in..Clinton and at
both grocery stores in hayfield.
Anyone who needs a ride to the
tour's starting point. can call .and
leave their name at the Expositor, -

transportation.

FIRE DESTROYS FARM EQUIPMENT SHOP —
Seaforth and Mitchell firemen were called to fight a
fire at Keith Simon's farm equipment ,and plumbing
shop at R.R.4, Walton Thursday morning. The
combined efforts of, the firemen failed to bring the
blaze under control and an estimated $25,000
damage was done. Insurance covered only $9,500.
