fans) held their first campout at
Happy Hollow Carnp, north of
Goderich. In attendance were:

On June 24, St, Patrick's
School, Dublin was the setting for
the grade 8 graduation.
Mass, was celebrated at St.
Patrick's Church by Father Dill at
7 p.m. Immediately following the
mass, the graduation 'exercises
continued in the school
auditorium.
The auditorium was decorated
beautifully by the grade 7
students whose parents also
provided a dinner served buffet
style.
Sr. Jean Doyle entertained the
guests when she conducted the
grade 7 and 8 students in a
•number of musical selections.

Mrs. Audrey Vorstenbosch
supplied the accompaniment on
the piano.
Father Dill spoke to • the
graduates and the parents. In his
talk he centred around the theme
"freedom" - freedom with
responsibility.
Joe Loeby, trustee for St.
Patrick's School, congratulated
the pupils for their achievement
. on behalf of the Huron-Perth
Separate School System.
Representing the Knights of.
Columbus was Lorne Feeney. The
K. of C. awards for high boy and
high girl in the academic field
.were presented to Stephen Row-
land, Rom O'Rourke, Betty Anne
Kroonen and Ruth McCreight.
The Lions' Club awards for
general proficiency were given to
Diane Deloyer and Joan Bruxer.
Louis Kramers made the
presentation.
The Father Dill Trophy was
presented to Debbie •Maloney by
Father Dill. This award is given to
a student who has developed
excellent work habits and who has
shown much improvement. Mrs.
Joan Stapleton of P.T.A.
presented graduation pictures.
Mrs. Rose Van Bergen,
president, presented each grad-
uate with a rosary.

In the afternoon, there were
contests and games for young and
old with Mrs. AlVin Luckhardt of
Monkton in charge. Community
singing was also enjoyed by all.
A baseball game concluded the
day. •

ferred from University Hospital,
London to Seaforth Community
Hospital, where he is a patient.

' On'Ffiday Morning, there was a
fire which competely destroyed
the Keith Siemon plumbing and
farm equipment shop, also did
extensive damage to the resi-
dence of 'his parents, Mr, and
Mrs. Albert Siemon. Both Albert
and Keith have minor burns.
Bridal Shower
A number of relatives and
friend's gathered at the First
Lutheran Church on Sunday
afternoon to present Valerie Rose
with a bridal shower. It was
planned by relatives. Mrs. Chris
Ellens read the address. •
Mrs. Donald Rose conducted
some contests , and. Mrs. Dennis
Wolfe assisted. The bride-elect
receiyed many gifts and refresh-
ments were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Beuer-
man, Jeffery, Dennis and Jill,
London attended the Beuerman
reunion on Sunday, held at the
Brodhagen Community Centre.
They called at the former's
parents Mr, and Mrs. Manuel
Beuerman.
Mr.' and Mrs. Martin,,. Dietz
were at Grand Bend with Mr. and
Mrs. Russell Sholdice.
Mike Priestap and a number of
friends spent the weekend at
Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. John -Vock attended the
Dolmage-Collins wedding at
Christ Church, London and recep-
tion at the Ivanhoe.
Mrs. Jack Hagarty, David and
Joanne, Ghana, Africa, are at
present visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. John Hagarty. At the same
home on Sunday were Mr. and
Mrs. Phillip Fraricis, Caledonia.

The joint Sunday school picnic
of the First Lutheran, Logan and
Redeemer's Lutheran, Monkton
was held on the grounds of First
Lutheran. Pastor David Beutel
conducted an open air service
with Holy Communion after the
service, lunch . was enjoyed
including barbequed hamburgers
and hot dogs.

great success
The variety program for Family Night was provideby
members Of the staff and was rated by the residents as one of
the beSt. This was the first all staff program and as it was
such a tremendous success, we hope to have a repeat
performance in the near future. Mrs. Jane Ladd arranged
and introduced the program which included the following
numbers; Monologues by Dorothy McGregor and Dorothy
Valkenburg; piano solos by Donna, Joyce and Brenda
Broadfoot; instrumentals Adam Wilson, Karen McGregor
and Jo Ann Verhoef; readings Dorothy Scott and Homer
Andrews; a vocal trio "The Bluebells" Elizabeth Gibson,
Barbara and Judy Carter. Mr's. Bessie Elliott expressed the
appreciation of the residents for the hour of fine
entertainment.
Twenty members of the "Over 90 Club" enjoyed a picnic at
Pinelake Camp on Wednesday afternoon. Miss Mary Turner,
who will be celebrating her 100th birthday in December, h ad
the hongur of being the eldest member present. The kitchen
staff had prepared box lunches and the Waikerburn
volunteers Rita Yeo and Willa Taylor helped with the
activities. Many thanks to Bob and hirley Elliott for the use of
the facilities.
, Another first took place at the Horne on Thursday evening
when the residents of Normal Care were entertained to a
Bar-Be-Qua on the East Lawn. Scotty Easton moved a vote of
thanks to Mr. Arehibald and his staff on behalf of the
residents. The weather was perfect for the event and it is
hoped to have one for each of the areas during the month Of
July.
