The first Hensall combined Summer Service was held at the United Church, on Sunday morning with Rev,- Don Beck in the pulpit ,and Mrs. John Turkheim at the.organ.' The subject of the sermon was, "Take the Good News" - all Christians should take action and help, to spread the Gospel. Ewart Wilson presented the K. of C. awards to the outstanding students of the year. Recipients- for 1976 were Carolyn Wilson and Jack Hendriks. Carolyn Wilson spoke on behalf of the students and recalled the events of the past year noting the highlight which was their Confir- mation on April 1 by Bishop M. Sherlock. She expressed thanks to. all those who have worked with the class throughout the years at St. James .School. Lunch was served by the C,W.L. following the program. He reminded the students that they must continue to know themselves better in order that they may grow - spiritually and emotionally as well as physically. Growth is a life-long, process and can sometimes be painful, he said.. "Parents, teachers and priest have tried to help you to grow - to understand the complexity of human life.
