The third concert was
presented by the Goderich High
School Band under the direction
of Al Mullin. A very modern and
well presented type of music
featifred this band of girls and
boys. They were wercomed by
Seaforth Reeve John Flannery.
Due to the presence of several
large trailer homes, the audience •
was unable to use their cars and
hence a much smaller group was
present.

Mrs. Winona Pipe, Londesboro
called and renewed
acquaintances with residents of
the Home. Winona is at former
member of the staff and often
calls to see us. Thanks Winona,
you are glways_welcome.
Rev. and Mrs. Ure Stewart
called and while discussing my
recent note about the
Schotiisehe, "Mrs. Stewart said
her mother, the late Mrs. Ed.
Mole knew Mrs. Dunlop the
composer well and often spoke of
her.
It was good to find a personal
contact with Mrs. C. M. Dunlop
the composer of the "Seaf orth,
Schottische.". I have been able to
locate her former home in
Seaforth at the corner of George
and Victoria Streets. A former
occupant was Mr. Arnold Case
whom many of my readers will
remember h ow he rounded up a
gang of boys ten or eleven y ears
of age and took them on a hike or
a picnic. I remember often seeing
them on their Way. Their popular
destination was usually
Turnbull's mountain, a natural
park two miles from town with a
ready-made pond and a free
flowing spring which feeds Silver,
Creek at the east, end of town.
This Creek was the inspiration of
sonic members of the Lions
imming Pool With sympathetic
support they' were able to realize
their dream, Now it is 'rare for a
child to grow up in this area
without being able to swim well,
Many. of •we 'oldsters' who are
non swimmers will often think .of
this. The Lions Club deserves our
support.
For twelve -years I have had
little to do, but think and have
done plenty of that, It is good, as
memory feeds one's mind and
produces ideas-that a young busy
person, as I used to be, just
hasn't the time to bring their
thoughts to fruition. Senior
citizens have -a great deal of
experience behind them which
they cap make use of in modern
living. The youth of the country

will do well to accept advice from
older people. They should have'
their own ideas as well but wise
and thoughtful young folk would
do well to listen to those who have
been successful citizens, often in
the school of hard experience.
Think of our pioneer ancestors
many of whom may have come to
Canada in the rigours of winter
and survived without the comforts
we take for granted.
All power to the youth of our
country but do heed the voice of
experience. "Advice is free but
Rich are they who accept and
heed it. ' '
Mrs. H. Trapnell, Seaforth, is a
recent resident of Kilbarchan.
Mrs. Nelson Govenlock
Simeoe.• visited the home this
week.
"Correction" I regret that in my
last notes, owing to a
misunderstanding, I was in error
when I said Margaret Sills was
organist at St. James' Roman
Catholic Church. Margaret along
with others have been taking the
organ during a holiday period. To
those whom it directly concerns I
humbly apologize for this
statement which is only partially
true. Please forgive!
