Rehearsals began this week for
the July 3rd opening of the Blyth
Summer Festival. This years
company is operating under the ,
jurisdiction of Canadian Actor's
Equity Association, and the
Festival is bigger and better than
ever, The professional actors will
be supplemented by six local
performers. In addition there will
be four ' musicians and seven
technical people working on the
theatrical productions.
This year, .the Ontario
Government student employment
program, "Experience 76",
under the auspices of the Ontario
„Arts Couneil, is providing three
apprentices to the Blyth Summer
Festival. They are Philip Street, a
native of Blyth; Janis Irvine, from
Srnia who just finished her first
year of study at Ryerson Poly-
technical Institute inT oronto; and
Jack Blum, of Hamilton, a
,performance student at the'.
National Theatre School id
Montreal.
Casting has been completed for
the first two productions and is as

about upholstering
The June meeting of the
rir Hensall Women's Institute was
held on Wednesday June 9 when
the members gathered at Pat
O'Briens at 7 p.m. for a talk and
demonstration on upholstering.
Following that all . drove to the
Hensall Bean Pot and enjoyed .a
roast beef dinner,
At the business meeting at the
6 Hensall Legion Hall plans were
announced for, a bus trip to
Vinelands and a winery on June
28. As this was the day before the
Senior Citizens trip i.t was decided
to change the date and July 7 has
now been arranged, leaving at 7
• a.m. Cost $6.00.
Plans were also discussed for
seeing "Anne of Green Gables"
at the Huron County Playhouse in
August. There was a .discussion
regarding the use of the kitchen
facilities in, the Legion Hall and a
committee was named to come up
with a satisfactory solutidn.
Programmes for next year were
discussed and the meetings were
adjourned until the second
Wednesday in ,September.

A showcase of Huron County
Art will be on display this year in
Blyth in conjunction with the
Blyth Summer Festival. The
exhibition will run-concurrently
with the theatrical productions
and will be located in the lower
rooms of the Myth Memorial Hall.
The show will feature regional
artistic talent and is sponsored tlY
the Ontario Arts Council. Nine
local artists will be participating
in the exhibition which will run
from July 3rd to August 14.
