Playhouse people are on a campaign to get the name corrected once and for all. It is probably the natural association, of 'Huron' and 'County', like Huron. County Health, Huron county Board, etc. that leads to the common mistake. This has perplexed Playhouse founders from the beginning. But the error occurs as much outside the county of Huron, or more, than in it. CFPL Television once referred to the vault Playhouse as County, as did Toronto newspapers. But what's 'in the name, Country 'PlaYhouse? quite simple", says James' M_utphy,,-_ who created the name. "The Playhouse is in the country, its atmosphere is country, it is unlike any theatre in the city, in fact it is a country theatre. But it certainly Is not a "County" Theatre''. Rather, the Playhouse has become, as Herbert Whittaker, Senior Arts Critic for the Toronto Glove & Mail, pointed out, "a true Regional theatre", 1.1 'S PLAYING MAY H. IS mad Ia PEI. EAT. and SUN.
