The Burns U.C.W. met at the
home of Mrs. Les Reid on
Tuesday afternoon with 12
members and 1 visitor present.
Dessert was served by Beryl
Reid's group, and a short
business session followed. Roll
call was answered by a Bible
verse, and minutes of the last
meeting • were read. The.
Treasurer's report was given by
Jean Leiper.
A thank you card was received
from the Shepherd and Hoggart
families. A receipt and thank you
was received from the Easter
Fund. Following the busines
members visited the Vanastra
Day Care Centre. The supervisor
Miss Karen MeEwing • met the
ladies,and took them on a tour of
the 'facilities. A question and
answer period followed. On
behalf of the U.C.W. Hazel Reid
thanked Karen.

Economist for Huron County was Dick Roorda of Brucefield led the song service on Sunday
evening with several musical numbers by the Clinton
Christian Reformed Youth Choir.
Marie Flynn and Norman Speir provided the old tynie
music for the Monday program. Morgan Dalton sang two solo
numbers for the sing song and the Clinton Christian
Reformed volunteers assisted with activities.
The "Family Night" program was arranged by Miss Louise
Lovett of Summerhill. Miss Lovett assists with music in some
Of the, schools as well as giving individual piano lessons. The
,pupils'playing piano solos were Kathryn MacDonald, Judy
Wise, Susan Van Egitiond, Wesley Delve, Kathy Penfound,
Elizabeth Reid, Mary Gibson, Jackie Norman, Brenda Harris,
Anita Hallam and Barbara Gross.Karen McGregor, of
Brucefield, entertained with two Scottish dances and played a
medley of songs on the accordian. Karen is a• teacher of
Scottish dancing and two of her students, Stella Wilson and
JOanqe Carter danted solo and duet numbers. Mrs. Elsie
Henderson who gave piano lessons for several years,
expressed the appreciation of the residents.
Ed Stiles, of Goderich,- played ' organ favourites on
Thursday afternoon and accompanied Mrs. Betty Rogers with
vocal solos,

Provincial honors for complet-
ing 12 projects wept to four 4-H
Club members during the fist of
nine Achievement Days for Huron
county Clubs Saturday in
Seaforth.
Members of 12 clubs took part
in the current project on a Touch
of Stitchery. The girls learned
seven emroidery stitches and
their variations, with special
emphasis placed on design
principles and color
co-ordination.
Honors for the 12 projects went
to Diane Nigh, R.R.4, Seaforth;
Judy Dorsey, 11.11.2, Dublin;
Vanda Storey, R.R.1, Dublin and
Diane Oud, R.R.3, Kippen.
County honors for completing
six projects went to Jane Allan,
R.R.1, Brucefield; Sue Anne
Finlayson, " R.R.3, Kippen;
Dianne Wilson, R.R.1,
Brucefield; Liz Klaver, R.R.S,

Northside United Church,
Seaforth was the scene for the
marriage of Florence Elaine
Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John E. CArter, R.R.2, Seaforth;
and ,Mr. Don,ald Fredrick
Shropshall, son of M. and Mrs.
Fred Shropshall, Clinton on May
1st, 1976 at 3 o'clock with Rev. M.
Reuber officiating at the double-
ring ceremony.
The church was decorated with
baskets of white mums accented
with miniature coral mums
trimmed with mint green leaves
and candelabras.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, chose a sheer silk
organza . gown with long bell
sleeves, flounce around neck with
dainty appliqued lace petals. The
same lace accented the waistline
and scattered petals were on the
flounce of the long 'Cathedral
train. Cascade of petals were also
at the waist. Tiny silk buttons
accented the back of the gown
and a finger tip veil fell from a
cascade of petalled daisies. She
carried a bouquet of fugi mums
with a dozen red roses.
Miss Christine 'Carter, R.R.2,
Seaforth, sister of the bride, was
the .maid of honor and the
bridesmaids were Mrs. Karen
Carter, of Clinton, sister4n-law
of the bride and Mrs. Janet
Shropshall of Kingston, sister
-in-law of the groom. They were
idientically dressed in soft mint,
green Pomedeau Polyster satin
with polyester chiffon capes
edged in maribeau. The gowns
were floor-length, empire waisted
with skirts flowing softly 'in'
princess lines. White wide
brimmed hats were worn adorned
with mint green bands and bows.
They carried baskets of white fuji
mums and white mums tipped
with coral with maribeSu
scattered throughout.
Miss Sherri Varley of Exeter,
niece of the bride, was dressed
similar to the bridesmaids with a

the bride was the ringbearer.
They were dressed alike in brown
tuxedos accented with dark brown
velvet collars and side stripes on
troussers, white shirts with melon
edged lace.
Mrs. Carol Carter, R.R.2,
Seaforth, was the organist and
Mr. Grame Craig sang "The
Wedding Song", "Twelfth of
Never" and "Sunrise, Sunset".
The reception was held at the
Pineridge Chalet, Hensall. The
groom's mother wore a floor-
length gown of peacock blue
chiffon over taffeta with bodice of
lace,. A lace over-jacket and balck
black accessories completed her
ensemble. She wore a corsage of
blue tipped white roses. The
groom's mother chose a floor-
length gown of coral polyester
chiffon over taffeta with a two tier
polyester chiffon cape with
flounce around the bottom. She
wore a corsage of coral tipped
white roses.
For their wedding trip to
Northern Ontario the bride
travelled in a blue, pant suit with
navy accessories and corsage of
blue tipped white roses,
'The couple will reside at 52
Orange St., Clinton, Ontario,
Previous to her marriage the
bride wshonoured at showers
held at the homes of Mrs.
Dorothy Dupee .assisted by Mrs.
Rita Powell. Mrs. Mabel. Wright
assisted by Mrs. Hattie Dale,
Mrs. Irene Whitmore and Mrs.
Ruth Shropshall.
Guests were present from
London, Kitchener, Lucknow,
Wingham, Hamilton, Clinton,
Exeter and Seaforth.
