A pleasant evening was shared
by all who attended the, bridal
shower on April 9 held in honour
of the bride-elect Miss Elaine
Carter.
Mrs. Warren Whitmore was
hostess to about twenty-five
relatives and friends. 'The
decorated chair was 'enhanced
with _pink. and white bells and
streamers. The mothers of the
bride and groom accompanied the
bride elect in chairs on either side
of her.
Mrs. Karen Carter led the
group in games while Mrs,
Margaret Whitmore and Mrs.
Carol Hoelscher led in a singsong
pertaining tq the bridal couple.
The highlight of the evening
was the address composed and
read by Mr.' Bruce Whitmore.
Dear Elaine;
We're gathered here to honour
you,
You're cousins, aunts and family
too,
We invited Don but 'he couldn't
come, '
So in his place, he sent his mom.
He says May 1st will come soon
enough,
And besides, a shower is
women's stuff,
From Hullett, Seaforth, to
Stratford she went,
But most of her time in Clinton
she spent:
She went to Dr. Bowker's office to
work
But a man, in blue _caused her
head to jerk,

When a kind friend asked me to
the ':coneert in First Presbyterian
Ciptrch by the Choralaires of
'Woodstock, directed by Dr. N.E.
81.1.#70errans, I didn't have to be
aslted,.a second time. I had heard
the choir before and remembered
them with pleasure. I also
'..remembered their talented
director, a practicing physician in
-Woodstock of whom we will hear
more later.
The main body of the church
was filled which spoke Well for the
popularity of this choir. The
Friendship Circle of First Pres-
byterian Church were hosts to the
choir.
I will try to give you tie names
of the numbers presented with
comments on each,
"Happy Wanderer" a happy,
care-free opening song with an
interesting two-piano accompan-
iment arranged by a member -of
the choir; "Morning Has
broken", a modern day popular
hymn, presently ono -the. hit
parade; "Moonlight Madonna"
using intricate harmonic varia-
tions to describe the mystical
heroine in this haunting love
song; "Eventide", an interesting
arrangement of, an old favourite
by Roger Williams. Two popular
spirituals follow: "Dry Bones",
