three years ago. Mr . McMillan
said. the trip was arranged by

and Rural Education.
The.: headquarters. of the rural
association is in Helsing at` and
students attended from all oser
the world. 40 hours a week was
spent on agriculture and horticul-
ture and the branches of rural
activities. They had 4 m onths

Residents welcomed

Seven new residentS were welcomed to the Home at
Monday's program' Mrs. Mary Appleby, Miss Sanderson,
Mrs. Mullard, Mrs. Evaline Appleby, John Gnay and Russell
Holmes. Volunteers from the Clinton Christian Reformed
Church assisted with the activities and the old tyme music
was provided by. Marie Flynn, Frank Forrest and Noilitan
Speir.
Mr. Dave Kemp, a teacher at the Robertson Public School
Goderich, showed coloured slide pictures of the north while
teaching in that area. The residents enjoyed the very
interesting commentary andseeingthe different ways of living
by the Eskimos',..tvIrs. Elsie Henderson entertained with piano
melodies and Mrs. McGratten expressed the appreciation of
the residents. •
The Kippen East Womens Institute were hosts for the
March Birthday Party on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs.
Marjorie Hoggarth was emcee for the program with musical
-numbers by Mary Broadfoot and Norman Speir, a reading by
Rena Caldwell, a skit by Mona Alderdice and Marjorie
Hoggarth; a sing-a-long led by Ruby Treibnei' accompanied
by Francis Kinsman. Twenty-two residents received: gifts
from the institute and birthday cake and tea were served to
one hundred and fifty residents and guests. One of the
celebrants. Mrs. Betty Scratch athanked all those responsible
for the party on behalf of the residents.
