A busy season is ahead for
members of the Seaforth Hospital
Auxiliary.,
A booth at the fall fair, a dance,
an evening with antique glass, a
district conference, the Ontario
convention and a wine and cheese
party were special events planned
by the members fin this fall when
they held their September
meeting Tuesday night.
Pat Bennett. Grace Titford,
Helen Stewart. Evelyn Brown,
011ie MacDonald. Dorothy Parke
and Frances Teatero offered to
work at the auxiliary booth at the
fall fair September '18 and 19
when tickets will be sold on a
handmade afghan and a teddy
bear for a draw to raise money for
auxiliary work.
The auxiliary members will
sponsor a dance, The Fall Fling
(named by Alice McConnell) on
October 18 at the Seaforth Legion
Hall when Seaforth and area

church service on Friday morning
and gave communion to those of
the -Catholic faith. Adding to the
service was the girls chorus, with
Sister Mary accompanying them
on the piano, who sang several
hymns and assisted with the
scripture reading.
The O.F.Y. girls "The
Entertainers" paid their final
visit to Seaforth Manor on

C.E.Toll presented a program at
the Pioneer Thresher's Reunion
Sunday afternoon in. Blyth. They
were accompanied by the
following groups: Mrs. Orville
Storey with step dancers, Brenda
Pullman and Lisa Beuttenmiller
with Nelson Howe on violin, vocal
duet with guitar accompaniment
by the O'Rourke sisters from St.
Columban, Highland dancing by
Angela Andreassi and Mary Lynn
Glew of Seaforth. Instrumental
selection by George Wilson of
Varna. Members of the band and
a fife and drum selection by
Mr.Atiee, Bruce Belgrave and
Huron Middlesex returning
officer Russel T. Bolton is
completing final arrangements
for gathering the vote of more
than 28,000 electors who are
entitled to cast a ballot in the
riding.

The board meeting which
commenced at 8 p.m. was in
committee-of-the-whole until 9:40
p.m. when the regular meeting
was held. When the regular
meeting was adjourned shortly
after 11 p.m. the trustees
continued the meeting as a
committee-of-the-whole during
which time David DeVries,
Seaforth, was appointed
custodian for the board offices at
Dublin for, a one year period.
Skater wins
two trophies
Young Seaforth figure skater
Lloyd Eisler Jr. won two trophies
in competition this sumemr.
Skating in Torontu in the Central
Ontario finals Lloyd won the
Kooinit trophy when he placed
first in the -mens' pre-novice.
With partner Lori Baler he placed
first in the junior mixed pairs and
won the Daniel Neuman trophy.
, Lloyd and Lori attended a pairs
seminar in Lake Placid, New York
recently. Thirty pair' skaters from
North America were selected to
attend.
Past Events
Last Sunday the Legion golfers
had a very successful day, thanks
to the good organization by Don
Eaton.
Thursday afternoon. All residents
have enjoyed, their weekly visits
and musical programs d g the
summer. During Th sday's
program Mr. Georgeshula sang
a solo and Miss Doris Willis
recited two poems.
Visitors with Mr. John Darling
during the week were Mr. and
M:s. M.Coe of Dundas, also Mrs.
Percy Adams and Mrs. Verna
Brooks, Seaforth.

The band then entertained with
several stirring numbers. Later a
smorgasbord supper , catered by
Mrs. Miller, was greatly enjoyed.
The group then journeyed to
Goderich and repeated a, formal
program in the auditorium of
North Street United Church under
auspices of Goderich Brass Band
to a very appreciative audience.
Other numbers performed there
were a broad sword dance by four
pupils of Mrs. Treford and an
Irish washerwoman dance.

Mrs.Beth Bechely outlined'
plans for a show and talk on
antique glass to be held on
October 21 at the Seaforth Public
School. Jack Cook, Ingersoll
(formerly of Clinton), an
outstanding authority on antique
glass. is to be the guest speaker..
Mrs. Bechely said Mr. Cook has
offered to identify any favourite
piece of glass about which an
owner would like information, if it
is taken to the meeting.
Mrs. Effie Stephenson offered
to convene the lunch to be served
at the meeting, Barbara
Wesenberg and Mary Margaret
Maloney offered to assist.
Ten members volunteered to
attend the fall conference of
District 2 to be held at Parkview
United Church in Stratford on
September 29 with the Auxiliary'
to Stratford General Hospital
hosting the event.
President Frances TEatero
announced the annual convention
of the Hospitral Auxiliaries of
Ontario will be held at the Royal
York in Toronto October 27 - 29.
A wine and cheese party is
planned for later this fall.
Marion Turnbull reported on
the successful potluck supper
held for the teenage volunteers
who served at the hospital last
year.
Mrs. Turnbull said there were
eleven teenagers prepared to
volunteer their services this year.
Pat Armes, membership
convener, reported there are 80
active members and 20 associate
members.
Alice Reid reported a net profit
of $202.62 on the television
rentals to patients.
Pat Bennett won the mystery
prize.

Councillors heard that
Seaforth's town hall needs
additional structural support for
its third floor and repairs to the
basement. Council will not apply
for a LIP grant to do the work, but
will hope to allow for it in their
1976 budget.

Returning officer busy as
election day nears
September 18 advance polls are
available on Friday, Saturday and
Monday, September 12, 43 and
15.
The advance polls are located
in each of the towns in the riding,
the advance poll in Seaforth being
in the United Trail office on Main
Street opposite the Library.
Voters in McKillop and Hullett
who wish to use the advance poll
will find the nearest poll at
Haywards Store, Brussels. These
two townships now are located in
the riding of Huron Bruce.
