Ontario Sports Travelcade will
visit Seaforth for two days on
September 23 and 24. The
Travelcade will be based at
''Seaforth District High School
according to Clive Buist , Seaforth
Rec. director who is co-ordinating
plans for the Seaforth visit.
Sponsored by the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture and
Recreation the Travelcade
program is designed to encourage
a greater interest in the
development of excellence in
sport through the province; and it
is hoped will also serve to
encourage greater general
participation in sport and
recreation programs.

Ontario's smaller communities,

Laurie Baier of Mitchell skated at the Niagara
Summer Invitational last week scoring 1st in the
Novice Pair Class. Miss Baier skated to a 1st in the
Ladies Singles Free Novice while Mr. Eisler skated to
second place in theMens Singles Free Novice. The
pair will skate again August 15 at the Toronto

Sports Travelcade coming
on sport and fitness programs
that would otherwise not be easily
available.
Inside the 45 foot sports
Travelcade van are displays,
facilities for up ,to,a dozen
simultaneous screenings of sports
video tapes, motion pictures and
slide programs. Altogether there
are nearly 420 audio-visual
programs available for
screeenings, depending on the
particular interest of the visitor.
Travelcade will also carry a
library of more than 600 books on
sport and recreation and will
distribute a wide variety of
pamphlets on sports programs.
Mr. Buist - said the . Travelcade
van will offer four and a half
hours of sports films when they
arrive Tuesday night, September
23, beginning at 5 p.m. and again
the next night. The general public
are invited to the films and to tour
the Travelcade van which will be
with information on , all
kinds of sports.
Those who are interested in a
specific sport can book any time
now through the recreation office
for a series of half hour progiams
that the Travelcade will offer on
Wednesday. There is a maximum
of ten people allowed in each
group.
- In addition the Sports
Cavalcade will have skilled
instructors who will conduct more
detailed cif nics in three sports
during the two day visit here. The
sports that Seaforth's recreation
department have picked for
special attention are hockey,
ringette and badminton. Anyone
who wants to impro've his or her
showing in these three sports can
also register with the rec office at
S27-0882.
