The Huron Expositor, 1975-07-10, Page 8A SHOT TO A BAG? — It looks a little weird but there is' actually a cat in the bag that Seaforth veterinarian Dr. Terry Johnston is giving the shot to. The cat was one of the many animals who were brought to the free rabies clinic in Seaforth sponsored recently by the health of animals branch of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture. (Staff Photo) r DECISION Ottawa, June 25;1975 ' The Canadian Radio-Television Commission announces the following decision effective June 25, 1975. DECILSION CRTC 75-226 MITCHELL AND SEAFORTH, ONTARIO - 750098600 JOHN C. WARD Application to amend 'its cable television broadcasting licence for Mitchell and Seaforth, Ontario. - to increase its monthly fee from $5.50 to $6.50. Decision: APPROVED IN PART The licensee proposed to increase its monthly fee to $6.50. However, the Commission APPROVES an increase to a maximum of $6.00. Although this fee will be one of the highest monthly fees charged to subscribers in the area, the Commission considers this increase justified in view of the low number of homes per mile in the authorized service area and the high construction costs to be incurred by the licensee. The final game got underway at 8 p.m. before a good crowd of spectators. The Village opened the game with walks to Rick Woods and Harry Cook followed by a double by Bob McKellar then a triple by Doug Hildebrand who scored on Glen Nicholson's single to open with 4 big runs. Texaco replied with a single marker as Fred Berton tripled and scored on Jim McLeod's double. Then after two scoreless innings the fourth saw the Village move in front 6 - 1 as Rick Woods doubled and Bill Price reached first on an error and both scored as Bob McKellar tripled. However the bottom of the inning saw the Duffers rally to score 5 big runs and even the count at 6 apiece. Gary Finnigan singled as did Bob Dinsmore followed by Fred Berton's home run to count 3 of the runs then Ron Beuerman tripled and scored as Chris Cavanagh tripled and he scored on Mike Marion's single to leave the game at 6 each. The fifth inning saw the finish of the scoring as the Villagers took advantage of several miss cues to count two runs as Bill McCurdy and John Coleman crossed the plate. The Duffers came back with a single marker on' Ron Beuerman's home run. Neither team could manage any more runs as both tightened up in the field. Rick Woods went the distance on the mound for the t Village allowing just eleven hits which was remarkable as it was • and Mr. Sharp. The first game of the day saw the Turf Club advance to the semi-finals as they edged the Travellers by a 10=8 score. The second game saw the Village move into the semi-finals with an easy win over the Firemen, they dropped the Smokeaters out of contention with. a 17-5 win. The third encounter saw the Queens come up with their first win of the year as they edged the Teachers by an 11-9 score. The fourth and final elimination round saw Texaco move further with a narrow hard fought 10-8 win over Main Street. Game one of the semi-final round saw the Villagers hand the Turf Club their first loss of the year as the Village plulled out an 8-6 win, to move into the Final. The second semi-final saw the Texaco nine hold off a determined Queens squad to post an 8 - 4 victory setting up the final contest between the Villagers and TExaco. Considering both teams were playing their third game under tremendous heat the final game proved just how close the league is this season as both teams put on a great show for the crowds.
