(Staff Photo) Smile it's Centennial See you there (Photo by Spillane) BENDER — ELLIGSEN St. Petef's Lutheran Church, Brodhagen, was the setting May 3 for the marriage of Joanne Dorothy Elligsen, daughter of .4 Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Elligsen of R.R.4, Walton, to John Wayne Bender, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bender of Crosshill. Rev. Arthur Horst officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride's father gave her in marriage. The bride's attendants were mrs. Margaret Hull of London, sister of the bride, Ms. Judy Toyoma and Ms. Kate Merriman, both of Waterloo. Attending the bridegroom were Gary Derford of Kitchener, Carl Bender of Crosshill, brother of the bridegroom and 'the bride's brother John • Elligsen of Brodhagen.. Traditional music was provided by Mr. Ernest Harley of Mitchell, accompanying soloist Mrs. Margaret Hull, the bride's sister. Following the ceremony, guests were received at the home of the bride's parents. Dinner was served at the church parlor, followed by a reception s and dance at the Brodhagen Community Centre. Guests were present from Brodhagen, Millbank,• Wellesley, Zurich, Exeter, London, Kitchener, St. Catharines, Detroit, Toronto and Calgary. Since their honeymoon in Florida, the couple have been living in Kitchener. LITTLE—ROBERTSON Miss Virginia Robertson became the bride of Neil George Little in a ceremony conducted by Rev. Allan Cook, of St. Anglican thurch in Paris, Ontat'io on May 10th at 1:30 P.M. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robertson of R.R.#l, Paris and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.Wm. Little, R.R.#1, Seaforth. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown made by her mother. It was an Empire gown with bodice and train accented with rose lace. The bride's sister, Mrs. Peggy Hutchison of Kitchener wore an Empire gown of pOlyester satin in a coral shade with a white y oke to, Huronview Church service starts Senior Citizens weak A special Church service was held in the Auditorium on Sunday morning in recognition of the beginning of Senior Citizens Week. Rev. McWhinnie, Chaplain of the Home, was, in charge of the service with two selections by the Ontario Street Male Quartette which includes Don Symons, John Lavis, Stanley Johns and George Tutner accompanied by Mrs. Florence Symons. The combined choirs of the Exeter and Clinton Christian Reformed Churches, led by Mr. De Haan provided the music for the Sunday evening musical concert. The choirs sang several of the residents' favourite religious numbers as well as prepared selections with Mrs. Valkenburg expressing the appreciation of the residents. Forty-four members of th'- Blyth Senior Citizens' Club visited the Home on Monday and after dinner joined in the old tyme music and sing song program with Administrator Chester Archibald, welcoming the guests and officially opening the week, The Goderich Township Women's Institute volunteers and Mrs. Hulley assisted with activities and Mrs. Molly Cox, Mrs. DriVers and Norman Speir provided the music, Cookies and lemonade were provided by' the kitchen staff and served by the volunteers, The Bayfield and Exeter (Senior Citizens Club provided the Tuesday evening Family Night program. The 74 club ,members visited their friends during the afternoon and had supper in the dining room. The program included instruments, vocal duets, selections by an Exeter Men's Chorus , readings and a sing-a-long. Fifty-two members of the Friendship Club of Brussels, travelling by bus and car, were our guests on Wednesday afternoon. After dinner the visitors gathered in the Auditorium for games with twenty-five tables playing euchre, five hundred and crokinole. Mrs. Evans of Brussels received the prize for the eldest lady playing games and Jim McDonald won the men's prize. The Clinton Club visited the Home on Thursday afternoon for dinner and joined the Goderich Club to provide the program in the auditorium with Rev. Youmatoff leading a sing-a-long accompanied by Mrs. Parker. The program included vocal solos, step dances, readings, instrumentals and selections by a mixed chorus from the Goderich Club. Forty-five members of the Clinton Club had dinner at the Rome and forty-four of the Goderich seniors had supper. The residents are looking forward to the visit on Saturday of the Seaforttrnappy Citizens. and large picture hat trimmed with carnations. . ,The „krWssmaids Miss Janice Hall :and'Miss Bonnie Aimable wore similar gowns in blue polyester satin and hats to match. Flower girl Patti Howell was attited in a white Empire flocked 'gown. The ring bearer was Jeff Caldwell. Dyke Little was groomsman and carry Little and Russel Robertson were ushers, A wedding dinner and reception was ' held at Paris Optimist building. For wedding trip to Ottawa the bride wore a green suit with flowered blouse, The happy couple will reside at 119 Park Avenue in Brantford.
