Varna area. As a young man, he
was avtive in -softball and soccer.

member of Murdoch's Orchestra
and ran a custom threshing
service. He operated the first
township power grader and was
later road -superintendent.
He will be remembered as one
of the first and by far the most
colourful umpire in the Huron
Ip Central Softball League. The last
few years he lived quietly on his
farm but was always ready for a
lively discussion on most any
subject.
