On Thursday night the visiting Brewers beat Conroy 8-4, giving theni a chance to catch first place in the South Perth League. Doug Leonhardt was the winning pitcher. Sunday's game was cancelled because Avonton was unable to field a team. On Saturday at the Breslau tournament the Brewers ad- vanced to the 2nd round before bowing out to Fergus in the 2nd game by a 3-2 score. •A win would have advanced the Brewers to a semi-final and possibly a final. In the first game against Co- nestoga, the Rules Committee kept Conestoga from playing be- cause of imported players and the Brewers were awarded a 9-0 score. Against Fergus the opposition held a 2-0 score until the 4th when Dennis Smith's bases empty St Columban came from be- hind t tie the St. Thomas Kick- ers_ 2 - 2 last Sunday in-Seaforth.
