Ingersoll
defeats
St: Columban
St. Columban was defeated
6 - 1' by Ingersoll Flyers in
Ingersoll last Sunday.,
The game was much closer
than the score indicates as Inger-
soll capitalized on every possible
'scoring change while St. colum 2
ban just couldn't put the ball in
the net:, Ingersoll jumped out in
front ,with two quick goals early
in the game , then St. Columban
got back in the game when Danny
Murray outran the Ingersoll de-
fenceman and blasted the' break
away pass from Ken Flanagan into
'the net..' 'St. Columban tried to
come back but they were stalled
as .Ingersoll scored two more
goals , one being on a penalty
shot, that made the score 4' -1
at tha end of the -1st half.
, The second half contained
many scoring chances for both
teams but Ingersoll , were - the
only ones who made them count
as they scored two more goals,
one on their second penalty shot
Of the game. That made the
score 6 - 1 and it remainecLthere
for the rest of the game,
St. Columbari's next schedul-
e ed game is on Saturday, June
9th • at Seaforth High School Field
• at 6 P.M. when they play the
Yugoslav Canadians.
