Mrs. Ann Burchill- was hos-
tess•at a recent meeting of the
Dublin Womens' Institute. Mrs.
.1. Burchill opened the meeting
and Mrs. Harold Pethick read the
minutes and Mrs. Ann Burchill
the treasurer's report.. The Fall
District Rally to be held at "the ,
Agricultural Coliseum in Strat-
ford in October.
A-l.ette'r was read from Spruce
Lodge with an invitation for Hobby'
and Craft Fair to be held at St.
Joseph's Parish •Hall.
The Institute is sponsoring
two 4-H clubs which have been
organized this year by Mrs. C.
Friend. Pennies for Friendship
were collected. Lunch was serv-
ed by Mrs. J. Burchill and Mrs.
A. Burchill. Courtesy remarks
were contributed by Mrs. J. Bur-
chill and Mrs. G. Aikens had the
lucky cup.
Mr. Pat Monoghan •of Oshawa
visited with his mother Mrs. W.

returned with him to spend some

teacher. Mrs. Weary taught
elementary school for one year
and secondary school for eight
years.

Council accepted the tender
of Gordon Heard Construction
of R.R.2, Seaforth for snow re-
moval for $15.50 `per hour, using
a 777 grader. The township will
also use its 'own two graders in
plowing snow from the 100 miles
of township roads.
Passed for payment were the
accounts, including the road ac-
count of $23,685.81.
Clerk James McIntosh re-
ported the animal control officer
Beverley Nott, had been called
to pick up eight stray dogs in the
township.
Clerk McIntosh reviewed
changes in the election act,
noting that municipal elections
will be held on December 4 from
11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with advance
polls on November 27 and Dec-
ember 2 at same hours. He said
a proxy vote will alsb be Possible
if arranged for ahead of time with
him.
Council will hold its•next
meeting on October 17.

NORMAN C. LOVE
Norman C. Love, of Mile-
stone, Sask., passed away Fri-
day, September 29th in his 82nd.
year. He was the son of.the late
Thomas Love and Jemima Mc-
Neil, and was born in McKillop
township.
He went West in 1911 where
he farmed until he retired to
M ilestone seven years ago.
He is survived by several
nieces and nephews in B.C.,
Nova Scotia and Ontario.
The funeral was held from
the Milestone United Church,
Tuesday, October 3rd., with bur-
ial in Regina Memirial Gardens
Cemetery.
MRS. CARL STONEMAN
Passed away at Queensway
Nursing Home, .Hensall, Monday
October 2,1972, Mrs. C arl Stone-
man, the former Gertrude Mit-
chell in her 75th year. ,
Surviving are one son Benson,
R.R.#2, Staffa, 2 grandsons, 2
sisters - Mrs. Olive Horton and
Mrs. Edna Traquair, Hensall,
1 brother - Stanley Mitchell,
R.R.#1, Hensall. Her husband
Carl predeceased her one year
ago this month.
The body rested at the Bon-
thron Funeral Chapel Hensall
where service was held Wed-
nesday, October 4th at 2. p,m,
with Rev. Don Beck officiating.
Interment was in Staffa Ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Cecil Bow-
man, Victor Dinnin, Elgin Hen-
drick, Murray Traquair, Edward
and Donald Stoneman.
An enthusiastic crowd of over
a thousand was on 'land at HullY
Gulley Sunday for the Ontario
Grand Championship grass drag
races.
A total of $1234 was paid out
in prizes. Top winner in total
points was Sam Argyle, Goder-
ich 150. Others were: 2nd. place

discussion in the "Family
Living"' classes.

THOMAS, O'REILLY
The death occurred in
Seaforth Community Hospital
on Saturday following a lengthy
illness of Thomas O'Reilly,
R. 5, Seaforth. He was 84.
Born in McKillop, he farmed
in the township.
He is survived by two sis-
ters, Miss Mary of McKillop
and Julia, Mrs. James Flan-
nigan of Seaforth.
The remains rested at the
R. S. "'Box Funeral Honie,
Seaforth until Tuesday when
services were conducted in
St. Columban Roman Catholic
Church by R . A Oostveen
assisted by ev. J. J. White.

Interment followed in St.
Columban Ce tery. Pallbear-
