The Dublin girls 4-H held
their 5th meeting on Aug. 2.
The meeting was opened with the
Pledge and reading of the min-
utes from the last meeting. Roll
Call was answered with the names
of 2 vegetables the girls brought
to the meeting. After the tres-

Friend passed out programs for
' Achievement Day and Achieve-
ment Day plans were made final.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Costello
hare returned from a ten day
trip to Winnipeg where they visit-
ed their daughter and son-'in-law
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Malone.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Williams
and family of Jacksonville,
Florida are spending some time
with her mother Mrs. Rose
Stapleton.
Mrs. Frank Evans who has
spent the past three weeks visit-
ing her family at Toronto, Nia-
gara Falls and New York re-
turned home on Friday.
Much sympathy goes out to
Mr. John Nagle and daughter
Bernadette In the loss of a loving
wife and mother.
Many from here attended the
fuheral of Michael Williams
which took place in Seaforth on
Thursday last.
Mrs. Vera McKay of Detroit,
is holidaying with Mrs. Melva
Murray.
Weather conditions have not
been toofavourable for the har-
vesting of wheat and barley.
However, Mr. Ed.' Byers has
completed combining thirty acres
of wheat last week with a record
turnout -4 over sixty-six and
one half bushels per acre. Can
anyone beat this?
Mi :rpseph Connolly has re-
turned home •from Seaforth Hos-
pital where he has spent the past
six weeks and feels much im-
proved.
Others in Seaforth Hospital
from' he re are Mrs. Jack Flynn,
Mr. Waiter Carpenter and Miss
Monica Roach. We wish them all
a speedy recovery.
Mr. Peter Maloney has taken
as a hobby the manufacturing
df miniature windmills. They are
eight feet high and are a re-
markable sight on anyone's lawn

The community was shocked
when word was received of the
sudden passing of Rev. Fr. Remi
Durand at St. Joseph's rectory
in Stratford. Fr. Durand was
parish priest at St. Patrick's
church here for eleven years
prior to going to St. Josephs
one year ago.

spent a few days in the village
renewing old aquaintances.
Mr. Geo. Holland of Scar-
boro called on old friends and
relatives during the week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner,
of Detroit called on Mr. and
Mrs. Wilfred Maloney on Sun-
day.
Mrs. Teresa Coville is in
an intensive care unit at St.
Joseph's Hospital, London. She
was taken to London by ambu-
lance following a heart attack.
She will be hospitalized for 5
or -6 weeks.
Prior to being taken to Lon-
don she was given the last rites
of the church by Rev. H. J.
Laragh. Her husband, and bro-
thers, Fr. Vincert Eckert CSB
of Gary Indiana, James of Roch-
ester N.Y.. and her two sisters
Mrs. Peter Maloney and Mrs.
Albert Siemon were with her.

Hugh McCalighey presided for

lake. as Secretary - Trees. It
was decided to drop the picnic
due to the small attendance.
