22 - 6 count. The horsemen open-
ed with a quick 14 runlead in the
first tvfo innings 'and then con-
tinued to pound the ball as they
piled up an insurmountable ad-
vantage. Jack McLlwain went
the distance for the Turf Club
to gain the victory while Rick
Woods and John Coleman shared
the pitching duties for the Villa-
gers. Woods suffered the loss.
Mainstreet and the Turf Club
remained undefeated as they both
earned victories. The Turf Club
won a hard fought game over the
• Firemen at the Rec Grounds
while the Mainstreeters had lit-
tle difficulty in whipping Texaco.
The third scheduled game for
Monday night resulted in a for-
feit as Mitchell failed to field a
team for the second straight week
giving the Villagers their first
• points.
The game played at the-Optim-
ist Rec Grounds was a tightly
played contest with the Turf Club
edging out the Firemen by a
' narrow 11 - 8 margin. Paul
McKellar was on the mound for
the horsemen and earned the
• victory. The first inning saw
both teams score freely with the
Firemen holding a 4 - 3 lead.
The Turf Club struck back quick-
ly outscoring the firemen 2 - 1
in the' second frame to tie the
score at 5 apiece.
The third inning was all Turf
Club as-they broke the game open
by shoving across 5 more runs

After losing to Exeter 6y a
score of 12-8 last Thursday at
• home in an exhibition game the
Seaforth Merchants JuVerilles
started league play with a win
in Exeter. Seaforth won by a
score of 4-3.,Don Nicholson was
the "winning pitcher. He struck
out 10, walked 7 and allowed
only 5 hits. Compared to last
Thursday's 13 errors, -Seaforth
ei made only 4 in this game-Sea-
forth's 3 hits came from the
bats et Stev§' Southgate Dennis.

gate, Bill Kunz Gary Eisler and
Jerry Feeney;,-, The Exeter pitch-

After winning their first
start in EXeter the Juveniles
lost their second league game
in Kincardine. Seaforth used 2
pitchers in the 9 inning game.
'Gary Eisler started the game
and was the losing pitcher. He
.gave up 4 hits, 2 walks, 1 wild
pitch aqd 5 runs in 5 innings.
It Reliever Bill Kunz finished, the
game allowing 2 runs, 1 hit, 2
walks. Eisler struck out 7 Kin-
c'ardine batters and Kunz 4. Both
Seaforth pitchers did well but the
errors (7) proved to, be the dif-
ference. Each teaks picket) up 5
hits. Kincardine lave up 7 walks
A to Seaforth's 4. The hit getters
for Seaforth were MIKe Meriam,
Bill Kunz (double), Jerry Feeney,
Dennis Campbell and Murray
Smith. Seaforth's runs came from

The opening game at the Lions
,Park, Monday night saw the
Mainstreet wallop the 'Texaco
Duffers 26 - 12 in a wide open
contest. The game featured some
excellent hitting and even with
the large score some fine field-
ing as both teams managed. to
complete a ,double play. The
MainstreeterS opened up a quick
4 - 0 lead-in the first inning and
never looked back as they scored
in every inning to build a big
margin. The Duffers stayed in the
game until the sixth inning when
the Mainstreeters changed a
13 - 8 lead into a 21 - 12 mar-
gin. Jack Price went the dis-
tance for 'the Mainstreeters
chalking up his second straight
win. Norm Irwin started for-the
Duffers then was relieved by
