son as hostess. Seventeen mem-
bers and 3 visitors answered
the roll call with an exchange
of plants.
The program was in charge
of Mrs. J. M. Scott and Mrs.
Sam Scott and opened with a
spring poem. "We plough the
fields and scatter" was sung,
followed by a Scripture read-
ing by Mrs. Sam Scott, who also
gave a reading on Leaves. Mrs.
J. M. Scott led in prayer, ,
Miss Nett Sinclair gave a
reading on Christian Life
In Africa. The guest speaker,
Mrs. JohnMcCowan of the Sea-
forth Horticultural Society dis-
cussed "Flowers of a Lifetime".
"Happy the Home when God is
there" was sung.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Beth Beckley and Mrs. Hilda
Sellars. Mrs. Ure Stewart, on
behalf of the group, thanked those
who took part in the meeting.

held at the Seaforth Golf and

For the wedding trip to
Ottawa the bride travelled , in
a beige blazer, black slacks and
black accessories.

Trinity Anglican Church,
Belgrave, was the setting for
the marriage of tonstance Jean
Nethery , R.R.4, Brussels and
Murray Albert Nesbitt, Clinton
on April 28th at 7;30 p.m. amid
decorations of yellow and white
shasta daisies. Rev. Keith
Stokes officiated at the double-
ring ceremony.
The bride is'the "daughter of
Mr., and Mrs. Alex Nethery and
the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Neibitt, Clinton.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose an Empire
styled gown of white polyester--
satin with leg-of-mutton sleeves.
The bodice _and bottom part of
the sleeves were covered with
lace. The lace-trimmed train
was attached at the waist. Her
shoulder-length veil was held
by a crown-style headpiece.She
carried a bouquet of white car-
nations and yellow roses edged
with fern.
Joyce Netery, R.R.4, Brus-
sels was the maid of honor. The
bridesmaids were Brenda.
Nethery, R.R.4, Brussels and
Mrs. Sherri Pfaff of Exeter.
Misses Denise and Angela
Nethery were the flower girls.
The maid of honor and 'flower
girlS Were- dressed alike in tuia-
quoise crystallete, empire style
with black velvet ribbons inter-
woven in whitelace at the waist-
line. The bridesmaids wore
empire styled nylon sheer gowns
in swirls of yellow, green and
blue trimmed with black velvet
ribbon interwoven in white lace.
'They carried bouquets of white
and, yellow carnations, blue
strawflowers and fern. They all
wore blue and yellow strait-
flowers in their hair.
Miss Brenda Johnston, organ-
ist accompanidd the soloist ,
Miss Marjorie Proctor. •
Maurice Nesbitt, Clinton• was
the groomsman and the guests
were ushered by Arthur Airdrie,
Londesboro and Larry Nethery,
R.R. 4, Brussels.
The reception was held at,
the Belgrave Women's Institute
Hall. The bride's mother re-
ceived guests wearing a floor-
length gown of hot pink crepe
with white bodice and lace
trirh, corsage' of pink carnat-
ions and blue strawflowers. She
was assisted by the groom's
mother dressed in a long gown
of line green crepe trimmed
with white lace. She wore a cor-
sage of pink carnations.
For their wedding trip to
Southern Ontario the bride tra-
velled in a beige doubleknit pant
suit and brown figured blouse.,
with corsage-• Of yellow rose
The couple will reside in
Blyth.
Prior to the wedding the bride

Columban was the setting for
the marriage of Miss Betty Marie
Shea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John A. Shea, R.R.#5, Seaforth,
to'-Mr.. Donald J. Upshall, son of
Mrs. Mary Upshall-, R.R.#3, Kip-
pen, on May 6th, 1972 at 2 p.m.
Rev. P. Oostveen performed the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-
length gown of white lagoda trim-
med with Guipure lace underlayed
with pink ribbon, long full sleeves
with wide cuffs and a high• neck-
line, both trimmed with Guipure
lace. The skirt was slightly A
line with an. Empire waist. The
chapel train was detachable-with
matching lace and pink underlay,.
Her three tier shoulder length
veil was held in place by a Juliet
headpiece accented with matching
lace and pink underlay. She
carried a' bouquet of white daisies
adorned with pink baby's breath.
Miss Jane Boshart, Waterloo,
was the maid of honor and the
bridesmaids • were Miss Gerri
Malone, Waterloo and Miss
Sharon Shea, R.R.#5, Seaforth.
They wore -pink floral floor
length gowns fashioned with
scalloped necklines and short
puffed sleeves. Each wore a
large Swiss lace picture hat,
and carried a bouquet of pink
daisies and white baby's breath.
Mr. Pat Murray, Seaforth,
was groomsman and the ushers
were Mr. Doug. Upshall, brother
Of the groom and Mr. Dennis

panied the soloist, Mr. Larry

. The dinner, followed by a
reception, was held atBrodhagen
Community Centre, Brodhagen.
The mother of the bride wore
a floor-length gown of mauve
jacquard polyester and a corsage
of white carnations. The groom's
mother was dressed in, a,beige
crimp knit gown and a pink .car-
nation corsage.
For their wedding 'trip the
bride travelled in a white two-
piece pant suit with. pink cor-
sage and matching accessories.

The May meeting of Unit 1
of the Cavan United Church
Women was held at the home
of Mrs. Robert Dalton with Mrs.
William Dolmage, the president,
presiding and opened the meet-
ing with a poem entitled "Hea-
ther on the Highland". Hymn 308
was read and the minutes were
read- by the secretary Mrs. Ken.
Thompson ,and the roll call was
answered by ,,Firstgarden seeds
planted." The June meeting will
be held at the home of MrS.
Don Dodds and Mrs. Les Dol-
mage has the Study. Book. It was
mentioned that the Ham Supper '
recently held in the church proved
to be very successful. Psalm 86
was read by Mrs. Don Dodds.
The prayer was given by Mrs.
William Dolmage and the Study
Book was given by Mrs. Ken
Thompson. The portion discussed . 1089 was on the "Congo".
