Set Plans
To Discuss
New Centre
The communities ofGoderich,
Clinton and Seaforth and 'their
surrounding areas are being'
canvassed now by members of
the nominating committee of the
Association for the Mentally -
Retarded to find a new slate of
officers for the local Association"
which serves that district.
According to various persons
presently involved with the
Association, a complete
revitalization of the organization
is necessary before there can be
progress. It became , evident
during a recent effort to join
forces with the South Iiiiron
Association for the Mentally Re-
tarded to build a regional work-
shop for retarded adults near
Clinton, that there just was not
sufficient interest or member-
ship, in the local Association to
proceed with fund raising plans.
Immediate need, according to
sources, is an executive froth
the community, concerned about
the problems faced by the men-
tally retarded and schooled. in
lie ways of organizing and moti-
.ating -group such as the local
Association.
The annual meeting is 'slated
for Monday March 20 at Queen.
Elizabeth -School in Goderich at
8 p.m. The interested public
is urged to attend this -gathering
and to offer any necessary assist-
ance to the Association. '
