For New Gates
At Zurich Fair
ZURICH The Centennial
gates at the 100th Zurich Fall
Fair will be dedicated this year
by Ontario Agricultural Minis-
ter. Hon. W. A. Stewart, on
September 26.
The fair will be on Septem-
ber 26. Saturday, and Monday
the 28th, although hi-links will
precede it by one week. Dur-
ing that week a street dance
will be held during which Miss
Centennial Queen will be
crowned.
Also expected for the dedi-
cation of the gates Saturday
are F. A. Lashley, director of
agricultural societies in Ontar-
io, Huron MP Elston Cardiff
and Ontario Highways Minister
Charles MacNaughton.
A collection of antiques set
up to trace the history of the
Zurich area since the first fair
in 1864 also will be dedicated.
You probably don't drive as
far as you think, the Ontario
Safety League points out. In
North America 60 percent of
passenger car trips are less
than 5 miles. The average trip
is 8.4 miles. The average oc-
cupancy is 1.8.
