The Tuckersmith U.C.W. of BriiCefielci United congregation held a Christmas meeting and pot luck dinner at the home of Mrs. John Broadfoot Friday evening with an attendance of 21 and 2 visitors. Following dinner the regular meeting was held with a Christ- mas theme. Mrs. W. Haugh and Mrs. Broadfoot had charge Christmas hymns were sung with Mrs. Ross Scott at the piano. The - roll call was answered by a Christmas tradition. Mrs. A. Paterson took charge of the business part of the meeting. Mrs. E. Sillery gave the secretary's report. Mrs. Berry reputed that $815.37 had been raised by the group in 1971. The election of officers for 1972 took place and are as fol- lows: President - Mrs. E.Stoll; Secretary, Mrs. E. Sillery; Vice President - Mrs. B. Walters; Treasurer - Mrs. Berry; Cards- Miss M. Swan; Program - Mrs. Haugh, Mrs. Packman, Mrs. R. Chapman. A program followed with Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. H. Allan in charge• and which in- cluded an exchange of gifts. The January meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Berry, January 10th in the afternoon. They all car- ried long cascades of white with pink sweetheart roses. All the dresses were styled similar to that of the bride. The Bowe r girl, Miss Jen- nifer Elder, Clinton, friend of 4.he .bride, wore a white dress trimmed with navy velvet with matching bows in her hair. The groomsman was Keith Sieman, R.R.#4, Walton and the ushers were Ken Murray, R.R.#4, Walton and Douglas MacTaggart, R.R.#2, Brussels. A reception followed at the Elm Haven Motor Hotel,Clinton. The. newlyweds left for a honeymoon in the southern States. When they return they will reside . at R.R.#4, Walton. Prior to her marriage the bride was honoured at showers given by friends and relatives'at the homes of Mrs. Jack Elder, Mrs. Wm. McLachlan and Mrs.f Glen Deichert and Mrs. Ken ,.• Strong., In Kitchener, • where " the bride was employed, a shower • was arranged by Mrs. ,j amen Morris and Mrs. Jerry Hogan., St. Paul's Anglican Church, Clinton, was decorated with white shasta daisies for the marriage of Dianne Margaret Switzer to James William Alexander. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Switzer,Clin- ton and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Alexarkier, R.R.#4, Walton. The bride's gown made of peau de sole featured a high neckline and long puffy sleeves trimmed with blue and white daisies on the bodice and sleeves flowing out in an A- line skirt and a small train. She carried, a cascade bouquet of pink sweetheart roses with a trail of ivy and flowers. • Mrs. Sharon Sinnamon, waterloo, sister of the bride was the matron of honor. Her dress. of navy velvet trimmed with silver. The bridesmaids were Miss Joan Alexander,Strat- ford, sister of the groom and Mrs. Mary Ann Caldwell,Clinton. They wore royal blue velvet trim- med with silver. The junior bridesmaid,Miss Debbie Switzer, Clinton, sister of the bride, was St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford, was the setting for the marriage of Joanne Elizabeth Dunbar and James Stephen Ryan .on November 13, 1971. The afternoon double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. E. C. Keane. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dunbar ,of Stratford are the bride's par- ents. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Zack Ryan, R.R.5, Seaforth. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long white velvet gown with French crocheted lace with a full-length train and a three-quarter length veil. She carried a cascade of orchids, gardenias, trimmed with ivy. Mrs. Sandra Hall, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Her bridesmaids, were Joyce • Yost, 1.,Yri Baumbach, Mary Eliz- abeth Ryan, (sister of the groom) and Kae Dunbar (sister of the bride). Th,e bridal attendants were dressed alike in long garnet red velvet dresses and hats in Elizabethan style. They each carried a bouquet of candy striped carnations ared. The best man was Ken Coyne and ushers were Kevin Dunbar (brother of the bride), Bob Eck- ert, Gary Hall, and Len Ryan. Reception and dance followed at Brodhagen Community Hall. For travelling the bride don- ned a red pant suit with black, wet look, accessories. The couple are residing in Stratford at 325 Home Street, Apt. 2. The bride is a graduate of the Regional School of Nursing, St. Joseph's Hospital, London. St. Columban Roman Catholic Church was the setting for the marriage of Mary Klaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Klaver, R.R.#1, Dublin, and Leon Maloney, son of Mrs. Nora Maloney, Seaforth and the late Joseph Maloney. Rev. P. A.Oost- veeri officiated. The church was decorated with large mauve and white mums. . The bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, wore a floor-length gown of French cut velvet fashioned with the design of daisies, an 'A-line.. skirt, long sleeves with a slit at the wrist ending with a sparkle. button. The attached train was accented by mauve daisy appliques with a large bow at the back of the waist. A pearl-drop headpiece held her waist-length scalloped edged veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses, white carnations and white shasta. daisies. Elizabeth Koopman, R.R.#4, Waterford, cousin of te bride, was Maid of honour. She wore an A-line floor-length dress of mauve French cut velvet and elbow length straight sleeves. Bridesmaids Elizabeth and Linda Klaver, sisters of the bride, R.R.#1, Dublin, wore identical dresses of mauve French cut velvet with puffed sleeves and stand-up collars. They all car- rfed baskets of white shasta daisies, accented. with dark mauve velvet ribbons. Each wore a pearl necklace and earrings, a gift from the bride. The groomsman was Leonard Maloney of London, brother of the 'groom. Ushers were Ken Maloney of Seaforth, also a brother of the groom and Casey Klaver, R.R.#1, Dublin, brother of the bride. Mrs. Alice Stiles was the was or o organist and Mary Ann Segeren . The reception and dinner was held at the Seaforth Curling Club. To greet the gubsts, the bride's mother wore a pretty miht green crimp dress with raindrop design and black accessories with cor- sage of red sweetheart roses and white carnations. The groom's mother wore an attractive dark mauve dress / with black accessories and corsage of pink sweetheart roses and white car- nations. For traveling, the bride chose a crimson red dress with full sleeves accented by embroidered band with rick-rack on each and a small indented neckline. 'Her accessories were black and she carried a nosegay of dried fall, flowers with gree n and gold velvet ribbons. , The couple will reside at 14.11.#1, Dublin. They were dressed alike in long moss green crepe gowns with full-length gathered chiffon sleeves. The neck edge and bodice were trimmed with chiffon. They carried bouquets of yellow shasta daisies. Mrs. Arnold Scott, Seaforth, was the organist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Ken Canino, Seaforth. Fred McCone, brother of the groom, Baltimore, Maryland, was the groomsman and the ushers were Larry Horne, brother of the bride, Clinton, Ontario and John Skea, friend, Huron Park. T. E. Hancock officiating. The Church was decorated with an arrangement of white and yellow daisies and yellow candles in candelabra. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a long white princess style dress of crimplene lace with long full sleeves and round neckline edged with pearl droplets. ,The bottom of the sleeves were also trimmed with pearl droplets: Over her dress she wore a long white velvet cape with hood, 'the hood trimmed around the edge with, pearl droplets.
