Following the . ceremony,
guests were entertained at the
home of the bride's parents and
the dinner and dance followed at
the Candlelight Restaurant in
Goderich. The young couple left
for a honeymoon in Northern
Ontario, and on their retuftwill
reside in Wingham.
Guests-were present from
Toronto, Kingston, London, •
Windham, Petrolia, Tillsonburg,
Ridgetown, Blenheim, Brantford,
Bluevale, Blyth and Hensall.
Prior to the wedding, several
showers were held in honour of
the bride. Hostesses were Mrs.
Robert Cook, and her daughter
Mrs. Robert Wilkin of London, IP
at the former's house in Hensall;
Mrs. Chas. Johnston of Blyth,
Mrs. Keith Moffat of Bluevale,
Miss Ann Mickle of Toronto at
the home of her mother, Mrs.
Laird Mickle of Hensall. The
staff of Northbrae Public School
in London where the bride has
been teaching also entertained in
Cathy's honour and presented her
with a gift.
On Saturday July 31st, Mrs.
Howard Scane held a tea in honour
of her daughter. Pouring tea in
the afternoon were Mrs. Harvey
Edgar of Wingham and Mrs.
Walter Spencer of Hensall. In

the groom, and Mrs. Norman
Cook of Hensall, presided at the
tea table. Assisting were Mrs.

Miss Bernice Galbraith, Mrs.
Keith Moffat and Misses Nancy,
and Mary Lannin.

The livingroom was beauti-
fully decorated with white and
green streamers to match the
bridesmaids dresses,also bal-
loons and a pink weding bell.
While the chair which the bride
was seated in was decorated in
pink and white with a large pink
satin bow at back with coloured
streamers. The dining room had
, pink streamers in7which room the
gifts were placed ''on the table
under little white and green um-
brellas.
A wedding day contest was won
by Gwen O'Rourke. Beatrice
Thomson 'read an addresS to the
bride and Vicky O'Rourke and
Mary Thomson carried in gifts,
while Pattie O'Rourke and Bea-
trice assisted the bride in opening
the gifts.

Plan Quilt
The Clinton Auxiliary met at
,..iluronview In the craft room.
Mrs. Peck read the minutes of
the last meeting followed by the
Treasurer's report. A number
of the ladies helped with the
quilting.
At the next meeting all are
asked to help with the quilt which
is to be sold to make money for
the auxiliary.
Mrs. Colclough read a paper
on textile products some of which
are inflammable goods and easily
catch on fire.
The Clinton ladies were in
charge of . the, program. Mrs.
Neven played several selections
on the mouth organ:
A reading was given by Mrs.
Gibson 'Commercials on T.V.
and the English language going
to, Pot".
Elimville are in charge of
the program number for the Sept.
meeting.

A pretty summer wedding took
place on Saturday, August 7,
19'71 at 3:30 p.m. in Hensall
United Church, uniting in
Marriage Catherine Anne Scane
and Niel Arthur Edgar.
Against a background of can-
delabra and baskets of white
gladioli and mauve and yellow
chrysanthemums, the double ring
ceremony was _performed by Rev.
Harold F. Currie ofSebringville,
formerly of Hensall.
The bride is the daughter of.
%Mr. and Mrs. Howard Scane of
Hensall and the groom is the
son of Mrs. Arthur Edgar of
Wingham and the late Mr. Edgar.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of white satin
organza. White lace • ruffles
sprayed her bodice and cuffed her
full wrist-length Juliet sleeves.
Ruffles again trimmed the front
of her A-line skirt, and a Vic-
torian neckline accented her full
waist-length bodice. • A detach-
able train flowed gracefully from
the back waist. Her floor length
veil of silk, illusion was edged
with the same lace. She carried
a bouquet of white roses, carna-
tions, and stephanotis,, with an
orchid corsage in th centre.
Mrs. G. B. Tucker of London
'was matron of honour for her
sister. Miss Anne Clarke of
"Toronto, the tride'S 'cousin, slid
Miss Donna Edgar of Wingham,
sister of the groom, were brides-
maids. All •were gowned in floor
length dresses of mauve and white
voile over taffeta, and wore
mauve picture hats. They
carried nosegays of white gladioli
and yellow chrysanthemums.
Terry Merkley of Wingham
was groomsman and guests were
ushered by John White of Calgary
and Keith Moffat of Bluevale.
