Garry Hammond, former- Mitchell public school vice-

According to the Goderich Signal-Star the boys at Sky
Harbour Air Services are "painting their first movie
star" says Doug. Hunter, the manager there. The movie
star is a Spitfire aircraft owned by Don Plumb of Windsor.
The plane is only one of the three Spitfires flying in North
America. In fact, there are only six airplanes of this
• type in the entire world. The painting job will take about
two and a half weeks, according to Manager Hunter. - - -
Brian and Martha Straughan, children of Mr. and Mrs.
Martin Straughan, R.R. 2, Goderich, are the proud possessors
of a Siamese apple. What's a Siamese apple? Well, that's
juste a convenient name for two apples joined at the side
and growing from one stem.
The Exeter Times-Advocate reports that more than 200
Grand Bend and area residents turned out Sunday afternoon
to see a long-time dream come true when the $30,000
Grand Bend ,Medical Centre was officially opened with the'
two new Irish doctors in attendance. - - -During the pas t
week the Clinton NewS Record says the old Lion's arena
was torn down. Since the new arena was built the old
building had'become more and more of an eyesore and the
heavy load of snow the past winter caved in a portion of the
roof and so it was decided to pull it down, along with the
