Docken of Walton united in marriage Batty Eloise Roe and Dennis - Stanley Wendland. Tne bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.' Roe, R.R.#1, Walton and the 'groan is the son of M. and Mrs. Stanley 'Wendland, Stratford, Ontario. ' Mrs. Ian Wilbee, organist of ' Duff's Church played traditional wedding music prior to the cere- mony and accompanied Me. Don- ald McDonald when he sang "0 Perfect Love" prior to the ser- vice, "Tne Wedding Prayer"' before the communion service and "Because" as the register was being signed. The Church was decorated with round candelabra and floral arrangements of white and yellow shasta daisies and baby's breath. The bride was given in marriage by her 'father and she wore a floor-length gown of white organza sheer over white peau de charm, simply styled with low 'neckline, high waist and short sleeves with a narrowband of yellow velvet at the waist tied at the back with streamers. Her three tier veil was held in place by a white bow and she carried a bouquet of white and yellow daisies„ white stephanotis and baby's breath with yellow streaming ribbons. , The bride's sister, Mrs.Allan • Racine Callender, Ontario, was her matron of honor and Miss Peggy Cornish of Seaforth, was hereloridesm W aid. • They were ear tical gowns of a yellow and pink floral pattern over a yellow skirt' trimmed with • yelloVe velvet ribbon and in the same style as the bride's gown. Their bouquets were. white arid yellow daisies, yr)low roses and stephanotis. The best man was Mr. Steven Kroph Of Stratford and the ushers were Murray Bolton, Kitchener and William Ebel, Woodstockoll Tney carried „fri ends....a_the-groom. Guests were present from Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener, Orangeville, London, Stratford, Thunder Bay, Lucan, Mitchell, Seaforth and Walton. Prior to the • wedding, the bride was honored at a shower at the home of Miss Peggy Cornish of Seaforth and also at a shower held in the church school rooms at Duff's United Church, Walton. Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels, was the setting for the marriage of Janet Eleanor WEBSTER - SHORTREED Shortreed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shortreed, R Walton to Mack Robert Webster, son of M-. and Mrs. Watson Webster, tt.R.#1, Varna. Rev. C. A McCarron officiated. Tne church was decorated. with -candelabra and purple moms. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of lagoda. The bodice was of French guipure lace with a jewel neckline, bell sleeve' and chapel train. A floral cluster and crystal jewels held her four-. tier silk illusion veil. She car- ried a purple orchid with Shasta daisies. Emma Shortreed of Guelph was the maid of honor wearing a gown of batiste with a purple bodice and purple fig- need skirt. It had.a. Gibson girl collar and bishop sleeves. A green satin bow accented the Empire waistline. The organist was Mrs. Nora Moffat of Wroxeter and she. ac- companied the soloist, Mr. Peter Postill, Clinton, when he gang "Tne Lord's. Prayer" and "Wed- ding Prayer". Mr. Barry Taylor, le,,R,#3, Clinton was the groom.sman and the ushers were Mr. Kenneth Shortreed, Walton and Mr.Paul Morrison, Varna. A reception was held in the auditoribm of Seaforth District High School, Seaforth, Ontario. For a wedding trip to Nor- thern Ontario the bride chose a ',mauve crepe dress with lace overcoat. She wore a deep mauve orchid corsage and black acces- sories. • They will reside In R,R.#1, Varna. T. ,Scott, Mrs. Hillebrecht and Mrs. M. Agar presented the study pe- riod on "Gods Love isOver All". A high Victorian neckline and short puffed sleeves also highllghted the gown. Her floor- length two-tierred illusion veil was held by a'cap trimmed with -the smile lace as- on the gown. She carried a, cascade bouquet of yellow and white shasta dais- ies, 'yellow sweetheart roses, stephanotis, cornflowers and baby's breath. 'The maid of honor, Miss Anne Cameron, Seaforth, wore a'white voile daisy flocked floor-length' .gown, styled similar to the "bride's. She wore a whiteee flY 'rr hat .and carried a bairdie of' "r yellow and white shasta daisies, blue cornflower with yellow ribbon. Mr. Paul Eioshart, Seaforth, cousin of the groom, . was the groomgman and the guests wore ushered by Mr. Paul Leishman, Paris, and Mr. Gary Nicholson, Seaforth. Miss. Louise Talbot, Bayfield, was the organist and accompanied Mrs: Phylis • Mc- Lay, London, soloist when she sang "0 Perfect Love" and "Wedding Prayer". The reception was held at the Bayfield Community Centre where' the bride's mother greeted the guests wearing a pink crim- • elene dress with white accessor- ies and corsage of pink sweet- heart , roses, white shasta daisies, stephanotis and blue cornflower. She Was assisted by the groom's mother dressed in a pink crimpe- lene dress with white accessories and corsage of white stephanotis. For the wedding trip to Northern Ontario, the bride travelled' in a pink linen hot pant outfit with White leather accessories 'end corsage of yellow and white shasta daisies with blue cornflower. The couple will reside in London. Guests were present from Bayfield, Clinton, Seafortlr, Lon- ' don, Toronto, Paris, Kitchener, Milverton, Crediton, Mt. Bryd- , ges and Woodstock. She was assisted by the groom's mother, wearing a pink, fine English crimpolerie dress and coat ensemble trimmed with tiny seed pearls. She wore white accessories and a corsage of white gardenia and stephanotis. After the supper guests ,gathered at the bride's home to view her gifts. * . The bride's going-away outfit was a bright yellow linen pant ,suit with white accessories. t• After the honeymoon, the couple will reside at 54 Smith Drive, Kitchener, where the groom is on the teaching staff' at Elizabeth Zeigler School and will attend summer classes at Waterloo Lutheran University. Stuart offic- iating at the double-ring ceremony. Tne chuectr • was decorated with white peonies and yellow chrysantheminns. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of point de spree with filmy full skirt and long puffed sleeves. Guipure lace daisieS were embroidered on the gown, cuffs of sleeves and neckline. The headpiece, which matched the neckline of the dress, held her long veil with train edged in lace. She carried a basket of shasta daisies and yellow roses. Miss Geraldine Bosch, of Waterloo, was the maid of honbur and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Caroline Greenaway of Bluevale and Mrs. Marion Warner of Goderich, both sisters of the bride. Treek were dressed alike in yellow and orange floral chif- fon, over taffeta and carried baskets of white shasta "daisies. Mrs. Barbara Livermore was theeerganist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Betty Lee, sister of the .bride; Duchess, -Alberta, when she sang, "Wedding Prayer"; ""Lord's Prayer"; and "Climb Every Mountain". Mr. Rick Finch of Clinton was the groomsman 'and the ushers were Mr. James Ross, brother of the bride, Brucefield and Mr. Greg. Brandon of Clinton. The wedding dinner was held in the Clinton Legion Hall fol- lowed by the reception. For a wedding trip to nor- thern United States and Montreal, the bride travelled in a mauve and white fortrel hot pant outfit with white accessories. The couple will reside in Seaforth, Ontario.
